Omega Ref 14791 Nordic Cross Dial: Rare 1960s Variant

Today, I had the chance to discover this simple automatic Omega from the early 1960s.

Simple... but what a stunning dial!

How would you call it? The Nordic cross flag?

I have found few other similar dials on the net. On a "Seamaster De Ville". On a "Seamaster" only. And here on an Automatic (ref 14791-62). Quite uncommon, isn't it?

Never thought of this design dial as Nordic cross flag but it fits, from now on I'm going to refer to these as such. Very nice watch though!

I've seen a few of them on Seamaster De Villes, I'm pretty sure its one of the Norman Morris variants, and one of the more attractive ones.

It actually reminds me of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, though I doubt that's what they were going for in the 1960s.
