New or vintage Ploprof?

Hi, have always been fascinated by the Ploprofs but too worried to pull the trigger on vintage ones as heard they could be a minefield to get an all correct original one in great condition. Everything from parts easily switched, Franken offerings, unoriginal parts, etc. that could end in disappointment.
The other option could be just getting a recent reissue.

Your thoughts?

I think it would mainly depend on what you'll be using it for. If you're planning on diving, I would go new. If you just like the watch, I would go with whichever one you are drawn to the most. As @perenowell said, vintage will require more homework on your end than new (hopefully). Good luck!

I am not as much of a purist. I think this cira 1972 unit, with service hands/dial/button/bezel and crown (even the date wheel); is fine:
