hey folks , first post here . Just got my first omega ( lord I hope it's real ) I received pics from the internals and I took a gamble .

Anyway , looks a lot nicer to me in person than in the photos that I saw when I purchased . It's a bit smaller than I had imagined but I suppose the older watches were smaller ...

Here are two shots I took . Also inside seems to be marked 2165 CS (I ) but I haven't opened it up to look for a serial number .

Thanks all ! Hope I did this thread the right way . Thanks for having me

This is my first post too. The watch looks really nice! I'll leave the authentication to the pro's here but regardless the watch looks classy. (I do know that it would be very helpful if you could find a way to take pictures of the inside of the watch).

Hard to tell from the photos, but I do not see tritium on the hour markers, and there is none on the hands, yet text is T SWISS MADE T. And some of the markers on the subdial seem to extend up onto the dial. These are signs of a potential redial, or at a minimum the hands are may have been replaced, but please know I am pretty new at this as well and will definitely defer to the many knowledgeable collectors.

I'd assume it was a redial , which I'm ok with . More worried about the movement than the dial which in my opinion was for sure redone .

Thanks for the help !

General rule of thumb: go for good original dials, hands, and cases.

Most watches can be serviced with relative ease, original cosmetic items however cannot be magicked into existence.

All things being equal, a watch in need of a service, with ace cosmetics (not new, but legitimate for the age of the watch) is preferable to a serviced (and even that claim needs to be taken with a pinch of salt) cosmetically incorrect watch.

That looks to be a pretty bad redial you have there... I hope you didn't hand over a lot of cash for it.

Newbie tax... it can be a killer. 😗

Your watch is a 2165A CS(I) with probably a 26.5 T3 caliber.

You can find several good example here :
https://omegaforums.net/threads/194...ed-for-india-omega-2165a-watch-26-5-t3.16166/
http://www.omegaaddict.com/members/display.php?mode=display&watchID=615

Your watch is a redial, but the style of your watch with the hands and the inserts as hour markers really bug me.
The watch should be from around 1943 and it looks quite different from the omega watchs from this era.

Also the minute hand looks way too long = replacement ?

Thanks , I was looking for info like this . I thought it had to be way older - mid war , but the style was just too 60s . I will still wear it and all but I had a feeling it was a Frankenstein .
