The next morning i received an email from ebay:
eBay offers removed - unauthorized user of buyer or bidder account

I thought ok,- bad luck and did not think ynymore about it.
After a few hours i checked my bank account and saw 3 actions from paypal which i did not recognize.
I called Paypal and they told me that somebody opened up a guest account and used my name and Bank details for his shopping.
PAYPAL blocked this account and told me to call my bank and let the 3 bookings reverse. That was no problem because in Germany you can recerse these debit spendings.

Finally i got my money easily back,- but i wanted to make you guys aware that if you sell a watch via ebay and via wiretransfer and the buyer does not pay,- he might use your bankdetails for scam purposes

Ebay is providing this service for buyers who don't have a paypal account. They can then buy/bid on items which require payment by paypal. There are some limitations to these "guest payments" if I remember correctly. It won't let you get through with more than 3 transactions in total for example and there is also a limit on how much you can spend.
It's surprising to see how easily that function can be misused by scammers though. Scary stuff ...

However, I'm glad you got your money back!

This is clearly identity theft. Both your bank and PayPal should protect you here.

In a case where you voluntarily send funds via wire transfer to someone who doesn't deliver the product, that is also theft, but is not the same as identity theft in the eyes of the banking system and insurance companies.

Rodsch, thanks for taking the time to explain all of this and VERY happy to hear you got your money back via your bank!
Another case of Ebay making their honest customers unnecessarily vulnerable.
It's appalling they've basically built in a system that allows a work-around to the small protection PayPal accounts offer!!
Reminds me of the also stupid thing of allowing zero-feedback buyers to bid on high-value items.
I've always thought why don't they have a probation period before letting people bid on high value items?
Wouldn't get rid of every scam but would help.
