Omega ebay scams?

Every once in a while I'll see a nice omega that is listed and it's got a crazy low auction price to start out of Kazakhstan. Last month I saw a smp300 grey dial with blue bezel and blue rubber strap listed and it sold for cheap. Pictures looked legit But seller had low feedback and fairly new account.

I was just doing random scanning and noticed another similar listing. Brand new account had listed a SMP300 Tokyo colorway from Kazakhstan. I've always loved this colorway and it's absolutely gorgeous. I didn't need it but for the price it was listed for I definitely would have contemplated it. The scary part is it doesn't go through Ebay's authentication program but you do have the ability to make claims on Paypal if they sent you a fake.

What are your thoughts. here's the listing.

It's a known scam. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

EBay's authenticators are much more likely to side with the buyer than the seller if there's any question of authenticity, I wouldn't even consider buying a watch on eBay (at these price points) if it didn't go through authentication.

Yeah, a known scam, and not just for Omega and higher end watches. They also post Tissot PRX’s and other cheap, but popular watches at a fraction of retail. All use the same pictures, and no feedback. Make a “sale” close the account, and you are SOL.

At least EBay should make someone have a certain number of confirmed purchases with feedback before allowing g to sell. But they make their money on listing fees, so they don’t care.

Probably what they should do is flag for sale posts made by new accounts, accounts with limited feedback, for items like this. Or incorporate an algorithm that looks for duplicate images.

Either way it's a shame that eBay doesn't flag them for review at least

One of the most important parts of the watch collecting learning curve is learning how to justify the next watch. You know you've got to advanced level watch collecting when you've learned to justify the next watch to your partner.

LOL, i have the blue diver 300 , but that white bezel with blue is so attractive.

If i acquired the tokyo smp300 i'd consider selling my blue one cause it's got such a nice flow and a little more rare
