Still no news from Omega. I’ve only worn the watch for a couple of hours. It has been longer with Omega than on my wrist, which is pretty frustrating as well Hopefully I don’t have to wait 4 months...

sorry to see and hear that mate!

my self, i dont know why when every time i buy from Omega, i must change the watch 3 times, and all the changes due to manufacture errors...

i bought apollo 8 speedmaster recently and was changed twice due to side of the case was have scratch. yes scratch on ceramic. very strange.

and i made a post about some abnormal hair like structure on the dial and was tild here it is normal but when sent to AD, was confirmed a manufacturer error and defect on dial.

I love Omega watches, but if i stopped buying them, will be because of these continues defects....

hope u get ur watch in perfect and neat shape mate!

cheers

Thanks! How long did it take Omega to get back to you?
In the meantime, i’m sticking to this watch 😉

My Apollo 8 DSOTM stopped running an hour after I received it. A screw fell out and jammed the movement.

Omega repaired it, but this kind of stuff really sucks. Best of luck.

BTW stuff like this happens to Rolex too.

Oh I have no doubt about that, but it’s been my daily for over 3 years and (touch wood) no issues so far. Hoping the dsotm will come back soon and become my other daily 😀

Good news! The AD just got back to me to say that Omega will repair the watch under warranty. They are waiting for a replacement case and the watch should be ready by the 1st of September.
Very happy with the outcome and Omega’s customer service 👍

Did they specifically say "warranty"?

That's good news, but hard to believe that they can replace the case, including re-etching the serial number, reassembly, testing, final QC and shipping, to get it back to you by Sep 1 (11 days). Maybe 2021.

Well that’s what the AD told me, so that’s what i’ll keep telling myself 😉 It was sent to the Omega service center in Belgium on the 29th of July. Maybe they have all the equipment needed there to do the case swap?

The case would come from Bienne, and this usually takes 2-3 weeks in my experience.

Check to make sure the serial number is on the case, and that it is the same as it was on the old case.

Will do, thanks! Do they sometimes forget to do that?

When a case is ordered, it can be ordered with or without the serial number on it. Ordering it without is obviously faster, and as I've said, it usually takes 2-3 weeks to get any part that needs to be serialized...

That’s why I like omega, they always take good care of the customer concern, their public image and never disappoint me . It is their DNA to take good care of the customer .

Last update from my side: it’s back 😀
It took Omega around 1.5 months, so can’t complain as they had to order a new case as well.
Very pleased with how everything worked out!

Thanks to all for the help!

Good to know that it end up really well and same here when I found imperfection to my new JLC master calendar but JLC went above and beyond instead of fixing it they sent me a brand new one and double check it before sending it to my AD to make sure its perfect which we expect from these brands. We dont buy these luxury items to tell time but rather to appreciate its craftmanship and the beauty. Cheers
