How can Omega celebrate and pay homage to a film where the main character wore......... ROLEX on his wrist 🤨

Or, you know, just don't buy it like the rest of us. What's next, black dial = blackface?

Apparently my .02 aren't worth considering? With the number of mass shootings, wars and genocides that have come after the advent of a more accurate way to shoot people from a distance, is it good to continue to have this sort of message out there? I didn't say, don't buy the new Bond LE because it promotes mass shootings...simply that it was my opinion that it wasn't the most positive message that Omega can continue to put out there.

It's in the picture that @Lou P posted on page two...

Also, a discription here: https://theversatilegent.com/james-bond-goldfinger-omega-aquaterra/

And of course, a picture because links are silly...

Even though I’m not a fan of gold watches, I initially thought that was a nice looking piece until I saw the 007 on the seconds hand!

Similar to the commanders watch, thought I would be better without the bond branding. Still not sure why this was released too???

Lots to dislike. Most of us have weighed in. But I do like the hidden 50 in the lume. I’d rather have the Easter eggs like that as opposed to the obvious and ‘in your face’ nonsense.

It's literally a tribute to a movie intro screen. If you have a problem, call up MGM, not Omega. I can promise you most people who are anti-gun don't even know that the inside of a barrel is patterned like that. They probably think it's a camera shutter.

Wow. Really, really, really, not a fan. Would choose and wear the 007 Commander's watch any day over this. I do not think this is going to age well at all.

It's definitely not to my liking, but I'm sure it fits the bill for others. Congrats to those who bought one!

How about a You Only Live Twice commemorative where the Seamaster is done up to look like a Grand Seiko?

A 50th Anniversary of a film Omega hadn't yet bought its way on to. George Lazenby wore a Rolex (more than one, actually) as Ian Fleming intended. They are really trying to push this "Omega is Bond's watch" crap to the limits of absurdity. But I'm sure somebody will buy it.

At least they didn’t produce 15,007 of these like they did with Bond Aqua Terra limited edition. My local AD still had one in the display case last time I looked.

Do you really think that banning Omega from putting rifling on the dial is going to do a bit of good? Forget the "message" Omega is sending snowflake. If you feel so strongly, as well you should, about these horrors then get out from behind your computer and do something positive to change things! Griping about a watch design is useless. Make a difference in the real world and stop whining about a freaking watch!

For a dial that only tells time and date this one is very cluttered.

Also a bit in-your-face is that they doubled down on the rifling effect. In addition to the infilled rifling if you look closely at the dial they've also brushed the surface with similar curved lines. As others mentioned and dial photos earlier in the thread show, there's a distracting reflection caused by the dial finish.

People tend to forget that Omega also caters to a vast majority of consumers who are not die-hard watch fans. And to those people, it is pretty cool to have a bond between a great mechanical watch and something in pop culture.

Omega has done the math and they have come up with the exact amount that must be sold to make a profit or have extrinsic value in advertisements. They’re a publicly traded company with the only goal of maximizing shareholder value.

Whether or not we like it does not matter to much. They have given us the 50th anniversary moonshine gold re-edition and the 50th steel, which I love. Also, bringing back the 321 caliber, which is solely focused for the enthusiasts. A non-watch fan could care less about the 321...

As soon as I saw it I ordered one from omega last night.
I’ve been looking to buy seamaster as I’ve been missing the one I had.
I get people find it a bit cheesy but I think it’s a stunning watch and when I saw it it made me smile.
Some one said that it’s perhaps aimed at non watch addicts but at bond fans instead.
I love all things bond and I agree it’s a stretch to link it to a bond movie from 50 years ago.
People criticise omega for there relentless limited editions but they keep selling them.
I bought mine last night and 5 minutes later it was unavailable direct from omega uk.
Perhaps they may st be available from omega boutiques.

The swirl on the dial is a depiction of the watch going down the toilet (in the northern hemisphere).
