Just thought I'd show off my newest. Picked it up from the estate of a distant family member (the original owner).

Woo, point guard 5513 meter first literally perfect dial. I had to buy all my watches! Wish I have family members giving me nice watches.

Watch wasn't given.....had to pay a modest (LOL) price.

It's a 5512 before they switched to the SCOC movement.

Doesn't have an original crown, but a triple lock.

But it did come with this....

Thought i saw a 3. Didn't zoom in enough

Wow. Does it still glow? A pity the insert is service replacement, otherwise perfecto. [emoji122]

I blame it on the autoconnect.

I didn't realize what I had when I first purchased it. It wasn't until I got home I saw that it wasn't a 5513 but a gilt 5512.

I'm still learning as I go. So a couple of questions to a knowledgeable group.

First. How do you know that it's a service replacement insert?

Second (and I've put this to VRF today and haven't had a response yet) There is a little discoloration on the chapter ring between the 5 and 6.
There is no sign of corrosion on the movement or case. Is this normal discoloration due to age/radiation or can a dial have corrosion when the case and movement not so any sign of corrosion?

Any other comments on the watch condition would be appreciated.

So u thought u paid for a 5513 but found out u actually bought a nice gilt chapter ring pcg 5512? Why it never happened to me? [emoji79]

Anyway, the insert is service for sure. The correct vintage insert for ur watch could b skinny 4, kissing 40, or long 5.

I can't c the discoloration in ur pic so I wouldn't bother too much. To my untrained eyes, it might b a relume. That's why I asked if it still glows which it should still do for a short period of time. Congrats on such a nice catch. If u r selling, dibs.

As you can see in the close up, the Exclamation Point on the dial has almost faded away.

I think it's a 5512 first or second generation. Fantastic piece!
