Recently I have bought this 2 watches , I think both belonged to a soldier as there were a few more military items which I didn’t buy .

I was able to get the Doxa running and on the way I found something interesting about it.

The dial has 1-31 numbers on the edge as you would see on a pointer calendar watch but there is no pointer hand so i am baffled.
also the hour hand seems to be placed higher than usual.

If it would help I can take the balance out and picture the number , and I can take the dial off as well.

ELGIN: ask in the pocket-watch section 👍

And show us the movement, probably you can open the watch from the front -> Untighten like a screw?

It looks like a boatload of unstable radium on that pocket watch dial, I’d leave the front alone, but the back should unscrew

The front unscrew easily but I was unable to open the back , I also went to my watchmaker and he really tried but was also unsuccessful.
The watch doesn’t work and I can’t even get the crown to the time setting .
I think I’ll keep it as a decoration as I don’t collect pocket watches but it was very cheap and it’s cool .
