The only one that seems to resemble the classic Constellation of the past is the black ceramic dial one, but it’s still too big to be a dress watch. The other dials look like the DeVille Hour Vision. I don’t understand all these watch companies coming out with no date versions only, instead of giving you the option of both a date and a no date.

A journey of my feelings seeing these launched already:

No seconds hand, no silver or white dial except the $70,000 Canopus Gold, too big diameter, too thick, too expensive. Very disappointed.

On the plus side, the dials and the rotor are nice, and the O-megasteel is interesting. But yeah, huge fail for me.

The black ceramic dial is nice too. No grooves.

Also just realized the new movement has a jump hour function which is another plus.

Always tricky to comment on the spot, but in my view the watch could have been a success with reasonable dimensions. Honestly, nearly 40mm and over 12mm thick is absurd. My phone, even with a rubber protective case, is thinner than that! With a case like this, the lug-to-lug is going to be monstrous.

As for the rest, aside from charging a few extra bucks, I don’t really see the point of such a chronometer certification on a two-hand watch. It’s a bit absurd.

And the price is insane—but we’re used to that…

I honestly don't mind the dimensions. That is a reasonable size for this sort of watch, it is basically the 39mm Rolex Explorer in size. So I think it is about right.

I just don't like the dial + losing a second hand 🙁

I kind of like it, but not enough. I don’t think these have broad enough appeal to sell well.

Why are they so damn big 😢 near enough 40mm. Why can’t omega make anything proportionate anymore

No seconds hand, I mean, really!
That said, I HAVE been wearing a 2 hander all day, and I don't hate it....

I made my pie pan a two hander this week by dropping it on the floor 😂

For a dress watch of this kind, I personally think it would have been far more elegant at 35–36mm with a thickness of 7–8mm. The Explorer is sportier, both in terms of appearance and use. It also comes in 36mm (the one I have). That said, to each their own tastes and preferences.

At 36mm, with a seconds hand, this model could have been a serious competitor to the Datejust—or even the Day-Date in its gold bracelet version. To my eye, Omega missed the mar

Omega has repeatedly gotten these new models based on old models thing wrong. Why don't they use input from this forum to help them get things right the way a lot of independents rely on the wisdom of the crowd?

Completely agree with you. And I don’t understand how they miss these obvious wins over and over again.

Now it won’t sell and they’ll likely bin the idea because they’ll think no one wants it. I think I could have even ignored the price has the proportions been right, had a second hand and had more elegant hour markers

What is the point of a very precise watch that you are unable to set to the second due to the lack of a seconds hand. It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma

I do like the way it looks though the retail price is higher than I would want to pay. I will go to my AD and have a look at it, at least, when they become available. I am going to reserve judgement on the size until I try one on

Beautiful release, in the concept and in the details.
The dial is beautiful, and so are the indexes and the hands.
I like the lack of the seconds hand.
I don't like the diameter, too big.
The thin bezel and the lack of the third hand (two details that I like) will make appear the dial too much big and empty, in person.
It seems (judging by the pictures) that the cases are slightly different between the steel and the precious ones. But I may be wrong.
Anyway, my favorite one is the Platinum version with that gorgeous Cappuccino dial (but I'd change the strap)

What's with the horrible 'Observatory' logo?! It looks like it was made in 30 seconds on Word using a free-to-download script typeface.

I notice it's partially covered with the minute hand in the promo shots, so you can't see how unbalanced it looks with the massive 'O' at the beginning. Really poor effort.

FINALLY! Certainly not perfect, but anything is better than what we have dealt with since the late 60’s until now. The question is whether people are going to balk about the price. Vintage Constellations might become more valued - they look like deals compared to the new ones.
