It is rather interesting that it’s moon phase at six, the Cal 9900 family moon phase dials all have it at 9 o clock, while the previous Cal 866 / 1866 Moonwatch moon phase models had it at 12, which made for a rather unusual dial.

I wonder if this could be a Cal 3861 variant that eschews the hours register at six in favour of a moonphase, because it would make a bit more sense than moving it on a Cal 9900

Ya this was makin the rounds on Reddit earlier. I do really like those moonphases. I guess these teases work well for omega they either piss people off or get them speculating and next we will see mock ups of what might be to come.

Well, we only have one week for the wild speculations compared to the months for the white dial.

Can we call it the "Neil deGrasse Tyson?"

We have been wishing for a 50th anniversary Apollo-soyuz in 2025, and the 35th had a meterorite dial. It's about 6 months too early but maybe. The N/S thing could be a stand in representation of the significance of the Americans and Soviets meeting in space.

Also the two brief images of the moons appear different from each other, which seems to indicate each dial is slightly different, which occurs when they use stones and jewels. So what type of material are these moons made of? Almost has a silver over pearl appearance.

Edit: I no longer don't think it's the A/S. Maybe a new dark side of the moon.

Is it just the image or does the paint in the subdials look a bit...sloppy?

I'm stupid and don't get a double moonphase/date track ( besides the fact that it looks too busy to my eyes)....can someone please educate me?

Northern and Southern hemispheres? Same phases but different angles.

I also think it looks attractive little gimmicky. But the meterorite dials are so nice I'm hoping the whole package will work.

Zoom in on a black dial 3861 and it looks just like that. Textured like bedliner material.

Aha, OK, but what is the point of that?

Wasn't it IWC that started this dual moon thing some years ago? I always thought it was too gimmicky and unnecessary, but evidently the market says otherwise.

Assume that's rhetorical. I'm with you either way in not quite getting it. But I love the meterorite dials. So I am curious to see what they've done and withholding the thumbs up or down.

I guess they're like "well, we went through the trouble of making two nice moon discs... Why not see them all the time?"

Looks like a meteorite dial outside the subdial based on the pics at the top of this thread.

Yeah, after looking at the pics again it looks like meteorite overall.
