Thanks for the inputs! I think the Diver 300 and PO are both great looking watches. I do prefer the dial and hands of the PO, but would prefer not to have the added thickness of case. Durability is important to me in an everyday and the warranty would be great. I had a Rolex 14060 with box and papers that I just missed a while back that just came available to me again since the deal fell threw. It's a solid 9.5 out of 10. Being such a classic and such great condition at what I would consider to be a moderately good price...I think it might be hard to pass up. New Omegas will always be there, but since I won't be able to add another to collection for several months after this...maybe the Omega is the better decision....decisions, decisions......

SM300

If you get a Rolex , everyone will ask is that real?......If you answer yes then you are a Pampus ass...if you say no then you are a looser

You can't win with Rolex....unless you have a paulnewman Daytona ....then you have enough money that you don't give a shit what other people think

I own both a 300MC and a 16610 Sub. The 300 wears larger and fits better. Today was the first time I did not wear it in the seven months I have owned it. I traded it out for the Sub. Don't worry about ceramic vs aluminum, it's not a problem. The most important thing is to try them on, figure out which you like best.

I would keep my Sub and Speedy and let everything else go if I had to.

I would get the Sub.

Congrats on your impending purchase.

Honestly I think the diver 300 is an awesome choice. You could bump it up a notch and do a Planet Ocean or or 300MC as well. I think all 3 done great job serving in any use case.

The Diver 300 has a rock solid version of the 2500 coaxial movement. And it's just a hot watch. Older versions are cool as well.

The 300MC of course is rocking the antimagnetic 8400 master coaxial movement. So, latest & greatest technology with a cool retro vibe that will always be cool.

The Planet Ocean... With the 2016 release you've got 3 generations to consider.

All-in it always comes down to a few variables.

- what you just love and WANT
- budget
- size
- etc

Good luck and post pics when you make your purchase!

Cheers!
I agree with most of what is said here...but MOST importantly....WANT ! Do not buy for the sake of buying. Follow your own logic and heart.

I am personally biased toward:
1. the new ceramic bezels (I had a beloved Seiko bezel lose its paint and other watches aluminum bezels got scratched) and
2. the state of the art anti-magnetic technology which rules out future issues. (if your watch "acts up" it is NOT magnetism causing it)
3. Rolex...to ME...is a commodity and not a market leader nor follower...just a (sometimes pretty) commodity.
