Need help with 3rd Gen Seamaster / Serial Numbers

Hey guys,

Looking to purchase a 3rd gen (waveless) SMPc in Black.

I found one at a "dealer" with a serial number of 89464***.

The warranty card indicates the watch was sold in March of 2018, but the dealer says the watch he knows the watch was manufactured in 2010 based on the serial number. But the warranty card shows 2018, and I thought this watch wasn't made until 2012.

So my questions are:

1. Is there a way to look up serial numbers after 2008?
2. If the watch was sent in for a service to omega, would they ship with a new warranty card with that date? Could that be why the date is so late?

Thanks a lot.

1. No.
2. No.

your watch has a warranty card that says it was sold in 2018, so it was most likely made in either 2017 or 2018. Why are you so concerned if the serial numbers match. The “dealer” doesn’t know much if he thinks the watch was manufactured in 2010. Those serial number date tables are pretty worthless except for vintage watches and Speedmasters.
