Bumped into this beauty and would like to seek your expertise and opinion about the authenticity of this Wittnauer; and whether it justifies the USD 400 price tag. Thanks!

$400 imo is steep for a Wittnauer. The case on this one seems polished as well yet the dial is very nice. I'd pass as Wittnauers of this era are available for far less. Here's one that I shared from an eBay sale. And the subsequent photo by a fellow OF member who bought it!

The watch looks original and in nice condition, however I believe the asking price is very high.

Attached is a 10 karat gold filled time-only automatic Wittnauer from the same period as the watch in question. I recently acquired the watch as part of sixteen watch online auction lot which included several other collectible vintage watches in good condition including a Universal Geneve Polerouter. My winning bid was approximately $400.

If you shop around on line (e.g., eBay, Etsy, etc.) and are patient I believe you could find the same or similar watch as the one you are considering for around $100-150.

    Happy hunting! Cheers!
