I thought I’d follow up on this and post a few more pictures. The 168.001 arrived today, thanks to the great help of @nanjingcigaretes. Can’t emphasize enough how accommodating he was with the whole process. 😀
The dial is in a stunning condition. Case was polished, as stated before and has lost some of its meat, especially around the lugs. Whoever did it at least didn’t round all the edges to oblivion. Plexi needs a quick polish, an original, decagonal crown is already on the way to me, and I’ll hand it to my watchmaker soon for a prophylactic service, even though it runs, sets and winds great, it seems.
As @Passover already commented, the bracelet seems to be an aftermarket replacement? My expertise with BoRs is very limited, unfortunately.
Also, in the list for bracelets and the corresponding refs, it says that only the combination 1036 with 517 endlinks is correct for the 168.001. A quick search through the forum brought me to speculations if 517 endlinks even existed, that doesn’t sound too promising. 😁
Anyway, I’m very, very happy with it and the bigger diameter gives it a wrist presence that is something else. Not that I don’t have love for my 2852s anymore, but these two 168.001 will be on my wrist very regularly. 😀
