Hello to all forum members.

About a year ago I bought a Seiko World Time 6117-6409 watch, which as in many cases the seller said it was recently serviced and everything was working 100%.

When I received the watch I realized that the movement did work and kept time relatively well, but the inner bezel that rotates for time zones did not move, so I decided to take it to the watchmaker to have it serviced and check why the bezel did not rotate.

When the watchmaker called me, he told me that some parts of the watch were broken and that the gear of the crown that rotates the bezel was a little rusty, so I went to see the pieces to take a picture of them and try to get them. Unfortunately in my country that is a bit complicated, so I started looking on ebay, seikoassis, etc.

Finally, I bought two lenses on ebay on different occasions, which according to the sellers were for that model and it turned out that they were not, I bought a new crown from Seikoassis with the gear and the toothed plastic ring that rotates the bezel. As soon as I took the parts to the watchmaker, it turned out a month later that they were not the correct ones, which seemed very strange to me because I bought them with the correct model on the pages that I mentioned.

The point is that today, December 9, I picked up my watch from the fifth watchmaker who couldn't fix it, and that's why I need your help to get information or guidance, about who could help me repair it. I already tried Klein Vintage Watches and the Blair Watch Project but they tell me they have a lot of work.

Thank you in advance for any information you can give me.

Regards,
Ernesto

I'm going to send you a PM with a recommended repair person, but for the sake of the thread, I will just say that I've always heard that the internal rotating rings are extremely difficult to repair (not just on Seikos but also supercompressors, etc.), so I've always made that a dealbreaker for purchasing.

Talk to Vintage Time Australia. Adrian has a long waiting list for repairs, but he can also help you source the correct parts.
