Hello dear OF members. Today I came across this rare 30T2. The seller told me that everything is original except the strap and gave me a price of 800 dollars. I would like to ask for your help from you valuable members who have information on this subject.

Thanks, regards

Did he also tell you it was rare? The watch looks legit, what do you want to know exactly?

Honestly, the price seemed right to me. That's why I wondered if there were any non-original parts. Isn't this a rare 30T2? I have seen dials with numbers but I have never seen a 30T2 with this font and this cleanliness. Doesn't the price look good? Am I thinking wrong?

Looks like it's probably on the smaller side, maybe 33mm or so, that effects the value. Rare is a very over used word.

The seller said it was 35. Then it doesn't have a rare 30T2 dial

Not sure what you mean by "a rare 30T2 dial". The dial looks original to me and is in unusually nice condition. Hands look right for an early 1940's watch. The buckle is not an Omega product.

When it comes to the diameter of a watch, there is always a difference between measurements with and without the crown. I cannot tell if this watch would be 33mm or 35mm without the crown.

Hope this helps,

I think you should narrow down what watch you are looking to buy, you have created multiple threads asking for advice on watches in various styles and eras. I think the forum better can help you direct you to a specific style, model or even example if you share more specifically what you are looking for.

Actually, I looked because I thought 30T2 should be in my collection, otherwise I wouldn't have chosen it.

The case looks like 33mm to me, the dial is original and it all looks good, but like he said the strap and buckle are not original. The hands are correct and the overall condition is pretty good. The case is nice and the crown is good. I think $800 is a fair price. I wouldn't buy it personally as it doesn't do it for me, but if you like it and you want it, I think you can do a lot worse for $800.

The watch itself looks original in all it´s parts (not strap and buckle of course) which is not common of watches this age.
The dial is an uncommon variant, well preserved and I like it.
Movement looks very clean too.
IMO it is 35 mm going by the proportions.
Go for it! I would buy it in a whim if I did not have too many cal. 30 (et al) watches yet.

Hi

Assuming the strap is 18mm at lugs, the measurements in proportion indicate that is 32-33 mm in diameter, excluding crown.
The movement is a 30 15j , may be 30T1 but not 30T2.
Looks to me a honest early 30mm watch, with a well preserved dial.

Best. F

Apologies, had read 8.3 mil serial - which would have been very early or out of range

9.3 mil serial number is in 30t2 range.

Yes, it looks like 35mm including the crown and 33mm excluding the crown.
I asked the seller to confirm, maybe the 35mm crown is excluded.. Do you think 800 dollars is a reasonable price? The seller normally wanted 1050 dollars for this watch, but thanks to a mutual friend, he made a serious discount. If it was 1050 dollars, would we still call it affordable?

For 33mm no, for 35mm yeah might be a fair price even thought its not typically the most popular model/configuration

He said it's 35mm except for the crown. In this case, we can say that a price like 1050 dollars is a good price?

No I would say the initially price said of 800USD might be a fair price for the watch, IMO not a typically popular model so means it might not be easy to sell for 800USD.

I understand that some of my dealer friends say it's rare. I guess people are divided in this case. But I've never seen such a celal 30T2 for $800.

Rare or hard to find in this condition does not necessary means valuable or easy to sell.
