You guys are scaring me a bit too! I got this 105.012 and the bezel and 1506/16 bracelet/end-link are both, while not NOS, in pretty great shape. I might have to wear it with a strap and service bezel just to keep the value steady.
Buy yourself a couple of leather straps and a few more watches and then wear straps, bracelets and watches in rotation馃榾

Hah @Barking mad , tell that to the girl who's expecting my next purchase to be a ring...

And yes, I asked if she'd like a watch instead. Didn't go over well. 馃槦

Hello everyone. Im new to the forum and currently looking to purchase my first watch as a graduation gift. Im interested in a pre moon speedy. I found a gentleman trying to sell me a 145.022 69. He says it is all original. I just wanted to know if it is all original. Any pros and cons. Also if the price is right which is currently standing at 5000 dollars. Thank you in advance for the help.

The price is right for a vintage watch in this pristine condition. However, be smart about it. Get yourself a <$1000 boutique beater for daily wear, and only wear this on weekends. If you insist on a Speedie for daily wear, get yourself a used modern version and be happy, and save yourself 2 grand.

Is a 1970 vintage 1039 bracelet correct for this, or should it be a 1969? My own opinion is that the correct date stamp on this 1969 watch is 70, not 69, but that opinion has been put in doubt today. What 1039 bracelet is correct on this particular watch? Thanks.

You could get away with a 69, 70 or 71 braceket really. Given the choice, a 70 is probably most accurate.

Yup. That's what I thought. 70 is the one that would be considered "correct" and would have come with a 69 watch originally. A 1969 bracelet would be cool because that was the year of the moon landing, I get that, but it's a bit bogus, for appearance sake only. Am I wrong? I just want to be sure I'm not misinformed...

I don't think it's inconceivable that some '69's made it to stores and were sold with 69 bracelets.

I don't think its a massive issue tbh. If you have a choice between all three dates, just pick the one on the best condition, Nevermind if it's 69/70/71. All are fine.

The 69 speedy was produced from 69 to 71, so it's fine for it to have bracelet from 69 to 71. If you don't have the original bct with your watch and are picky about the bct's date stamp, you'd have to match it with the movement's serial number or the date the watched was produced based on archive extract.

PS: Since bct was available as a separate option, it could as well be dated a year or two after the watch was produced.

My 145022-69ST with pre moon caseback (early 29mil serial) came with what appears to be an original 1116 bracelet.

I bought my 145.022-69 during the summer of 1970. I still have it and it has a '69 1039 and a 30,xxx,xxx serial.

So a '69 bracelet is fine then.

To add to the thread, a '69 I used to own, with 2911xxxx serial, which came direct from the original owner, had a 1 70 bracelet.

And it is a lovely watch.
Enjoy it.
I think it is what you want - a fine example of a speedmaster.
If you wear it, I doubt you will meet someone wearing a better condition 145.022.
I like that!
