Hello all, I was reading a Omega timeline and it says that in 1957 the Seamaster 300 was invented. “... this underwater timepiece was immune to the immense pressures at depth thanks to the revolutionary ‘Naiad’ crown.” Can anyone elaborate on what Omega means by “Naiad” here?
It was the name Omega used to advertise their patented crown. Naiads were water spirits of Greek mythology, so someone at Omega thought it would be a good idea to name the crown after them.
I looked up Naiad and learned that they are beautiful females I’ll look it up further tomorrow good night!
