I don’t make a point in talking about purchases. I definitely point out sales. It tends to give the impression that I’m downsizing.

Yeah right!........I bet she doesn't believe that for a millisecond....she probably hasn't remarked on it yet as she's hoping you won't say anything about the eleventy seven handbags and matching pairs of shoes she buys every month!

not the last time we moved house, but the time before I did one special trip in the ute (pickup) with the load tray completely filled to the gunwales with Lesley's bloody shoes! I made much sport of it, so with the most recent move she had removalists move her stuff!

You are probably correct. But she’s a good partner. Lets me slide on on lots of things.

Tough to deal with. Don’t they have that surgical implant to restore hearing? I don’t know if it works for everyone I talked to someone who had it but briefly. I believe at the time they could not hear music from a stereo but could hear live music if I’m not mistaken.
I’m fortunate never had any hearing problems except after a Who reunion show left my ears buzzing for 3 days.

Two friends of mine were quite big in the local house music scene back in the 90s, putting on lot's of big parties and pop-up events in and around Brighton here in the UK. They clearly took a significant noise dose over the years and as result have now both developed tinitus. Their doctor described the problem as their brain filling in the missing parts that have been damaged. They
Too many guns going off, too much buggerising about with explosives, too many race cars, too much time in ship engine rooms, manufacturing plants, steel and timber mills and too much use of power tools like angle grinders has left me with a bloody loud constant ringing that seems to me in the upper middle of my head the volume can vary a bit but it never goes away.
If I'm around dope smokers the 2nd hand smoke seems to make it worse!
As I write this it's pretty loud,so I may not be able to get to sleep until I'm just too tired to stay awake

Both now use hearing aids not just for the impairment but as it significantly helps the tinitus - "they are so good I can't wait to put them on in the morning"

Not exactly a cure but could be worth exploring as a paliative measure to improve your condition...

The government here has some sort of compensation scheme for those of us that have suffered industrial deafness, I need to find out about what this covers and how it works' but I believe that the average payment is @ AUS $20K so that should cover some pretty good hearing aids if the are deemed to be helpful.

Are we going to move into the expensive tool section of our programming?

Very nice 👍

Are you going for the full 17m wingspan or one of the "more affordable" 3.2m hand-launched versions? If the former can I have a go, pretty please?

Funny as a knife maker the older the better 😉 it’s the better steel used in the old days.
Google “ball bearing on anvil”

What do you mean in high tech. !?

@walrus can make one with an OLED face, and software that allows you to show a picture of an old anvil when you really need that additional strength.

Whoa there boy, cool your jets! you need to make the first dollar yet.
You'll need a Kick Starter page, pre orders and and some cool fancy pictures of your Anvil maybe doing Skydiving or Jet Skiing.
Plus lots of cool specs like IP69K protection rating.
Invictus Glass 112
Crush depth rating
Edge crush rating
WIFI and Bluetooth compatibility, streaming etc

Not to mention early investor bonus and product.

Of course its one thing to make the smart anvil hardware, but you then will need software apps to go with it.
Mind you I did used to have a 4lb hammer, that I'd stuck the adjustable thimble from a buggered micrometer to the end of the handle, I would confuse bystanders by carefully calibrating the thimble to the desired setting and then bashing the living shit outta what ever I was working on, I called it the 4lb micrometer of the bashometer!
Unfortunately someone stole it.
I should make another....a digital one this time, I'll have a buggered digital micrometer or vernier caliper somewhere.
