    Hi Everyone,

I just joined the forums today and I wanted to share with you all my new acquisition, just a couple hours ago, from a local antique watch and jewelry repair shop. Before purchasing, I did as much due diligence as I could, through the helpful information on the Internet, to verify its originality. But still, I wanted to receive the opinions and thoughts of the forum members, to confirm if this was a reasonable purchase.

As a note, this was the only caliber 321 that I could find locally for the price of circa USD$6100; I did not consider shopping online because I couldn't bear the possible risk of misrepresentation and watches that might have been tampered with. Previously, I came across a photograph of a near mint condition 105.012 from a local vintage watch dealer, but they were asking for circa USD$10200, which I thought was unreasonable.

In addition, the watch that I purchased, originally came on a leather strap, but I replaced it with a Speidel bracelet.

Anyhow, please kindly let me know your thoughts, opinions and observations on the watch. Thanks.

Pretty watch, I quite like it. Looks honest, get it serviced before wearing though.

    Great timepiece

If you ever get serviced Omega will have to send your timepiece to Switzerland ! Can be very costly ! And they will replace for new parts !

The dial is in great conditions !

    Congrats !

Omega is not the only service alternative. In a piece like this you would not send it to Omega.

If you want original omega parts for the 321 movement they still stock in Switzerland!

And i like the original parts and not some alternative

What @cicindela and @Barking mad are suggesting is to find a qualified watchmaker that is sympathetic to vintage time pieces and will do everything they can to preserve the original visible patina parts, and replace movement parts with original Omega parts to maintain the integrity and life story the watch has to tell

Where exactly are these magical Chinese Calibre 321 alternative parts?

You've posted nonsense in two threads now about how watchmakers are installing "non-Omega" parts in vintage Omega in-house movement watches and I'd love to know who's putting these things in your head.

Not a bad watch and not a good one to my opinion . Crown is a replacement , Bezel has 4 Dengs, CB has many deep scratches , Lume has gone on the hands , the Dial is ok , but not perfect and the case is polished .

    Welcome to the Forum.

Nice find, and a good buy at $6100! Movement looks like it needs some love. Where are you in the world? That will help identify shops that might be able to help.

If I'm not mistaken the -64 is the rarest of the Ed Whites, barring maybe a -63 with a no T dial.

That watch will be great for wearing!

    Mine says hi!

Thanks Dgercp! I admit that the crown was something I didn't check and it didn't cross my mind that the crown might've been replaced. Oh well!
