My First Speedmaster Pre Moon 145022-69 // cal 861 // DON Bezel

i dont "stirp" and ruin watches. i try to calculate the inner value of a watch considering it as an investment. often the inner value is the sum of its parts or certain parts, like a DON bezel, are more valuable than a non-DON bezel. Its true, that i said i would like a pulsometer bezel more but i reconsidered this thought. Actually i didint think that changing a bezel would be "striping" a watch but the forum convinced me of better anyways. I would never unmount a watch to make money as im unable to do this anyways and its also highly risky to sell single parts. you need multiple transactions and there is always the risk that you cant sell some parts and that's where you make loss.

regarding the hands it is my interest to know if the watch has replacement parts or if its all original (beside the lume) or how much "factory original" it actually is. i want to know that because i love the watch.

and yes - my plan is to wear the watch for some time. get a second (diffferent one) and then put both onto the market and try to sell one so that i can get a third one which is more uncommon. - thats something many forum members do, maybe without realizing it. (the only difference is that they dont put them together on the market. they sell only the watch they dislike)

Based on the different color of the markers and hands, and your comment about how they glow; they look like original tritium hands (not relumed) from another watch.

just examined the glowing: the hands load under a lightbulb for 30 seconds-1 minute and i take the watch into a completely dark room. the hands glow verry sharp at the beginning, drop a lot in the first 10 minutes and stop glowing completely after 30 mins

We all have our reasons for collecting watches and there are no hard and fast rules or codes that we should adhere to, but you come across as as though you don t care about the watches just the money that could be made from them. This may not be the case, but I could never buy a watch ( part) from a person with this attitude. Stripping beautiful watches unnecessarily just to make a few euros really saddens me.
You are not the only person doing it and they are your watches to do as you see fit with but I hope you don t get the opportunity to ruin too many beautiful watches.
I would also like to say that it is only my opinion and I do not want to have a go at you but you are young and with the stupidity of youth comes many stupid deeds....like ruining watches.
Well said!👍

Or....just save up and get that one watch that you really want. Trying to play "vintage dealer" is dangerous when you don't have the knowledge base to do so.

More importantly though - what draws you to a Speedmaster in the first place? I've been wanting to ask you this as I've seen your 100+ posts cropping up (with topics and references all over the board), but didn't want you to feel picked on. Now I seriously want to know though. Why do you want one?

i have quite a few 34mm omegas and also the 300 professional and i felt that a speedmaster is missing in my collection. i also want a omega cosmic moonphase.

regarding the speedmaster model im looking for a pre-moon in specific because i like that they are older than the "common" ones. every REF that is not 145... is interesting. i also like the story "torn down" watches have to tell. - its hard to rationalise, its more a feeling that draws me towards them.

also purchased moonwatch only already to be able to do research myself.

its also fun to "hunt down" such omegas

I see what you mean 😜 The lift angle should be 50 degrees . Than the amplitud would be less than 272 degrees . And maybe more - on the sec per day .

More to the point, was the measurement taken in the horizontal of the vertical plane and at what state of wind? - fully wound or at 24 hours?

I concure, I appreciate my watches, I would not consider breaking them up for the sum of parts, reconsider things before deciding to go in this direction!!
Sometimes it's more than ££€€

This account @Sapientia Cordis has now been banned due to being a fake persona created by the amateur watch dealer @ev3rclear

We'll be having a think about exactly what to do about @ev3rclear but trying to create a fraudulent second identity under a new alias to further your business pursuits as a crooked amateur watch dealer is about as bad as it gets in our books. Trying to deceive us or our members for profit will not be tolerated ever.

Boy, that is really good news. I've really enjoyed being a daily OF voyeur since last August (learning and enjoying the collective knowledge herein), but this guy has been a "bull in a china shop". Good for you. Actually, good for all of us.

When you think back it was a little strange.
The avatar was a perfect fit. Annoying and cartoonish.
I just figured he was a little ADD, which didn't bother me,
kinda amusing.

He won't be bothering anyone here any longer, after talking it over we've ended both accounts.
