This baby landed today. What a stunning watch for the $750 I paid. I feel it's worth well above that.

This version is 37mm and has a dial reminiscent of a vinyl record with concentric circles. It’s really something. The original—stretched—Gay Frères bracelet is fantastic. And how about that Kontiki medallion? You can still see the thatching on the roof! I’m very happy to have added this my collection.

Very nice! About to what year would you date it?

Good question. I see there's a serial number on the caseback that reads "5167092". I don't know how to decipher Eterna serials, but that could be 1965 or 1961. Anyone else care to chime in?

Classic watches, and generally undervalued in the market. Black dial variations are not very common, either.

Congrats!

Based on the case serial number it appears to be a1965 or 1966 but as others have noted to be more accurate the movement serial number is also needed.

Have a look also inside the clasp: if it's GF (which it is), you might see a little date mark, in the format e.g. "6/65".
I love these - you did great.

Thanks guys—the GF is great. Had to remove a link, which wasn't as tough as initially expected. Fits so well.
