Similar story here - when my dad gave me his 1969 Omega about a year ago I sent it for servicing and said I didn't want the case polished. I did ask for the crystal to get polished because the scratches there were going to annoy me. Now I wear it just about every day and I love it. Keeps awesome time too.

Anyone else think the whole thing is BS? I mean, he knows it's a CK2915-3, and if you type that into google, you immediately know it's a 5-figure watch at least. So then you join a forum that specializes in Omega, with world-renowned experts, label yourself a "Rolex man" and proceed to post the worst possible photos you could ever take.

Fair enough but at the same time…. i not knowing anything, have Googled- and admittedly not read through the detailed price guides but what do I first see?
One 2915-1 sold for a record 3 million Swiss francs (later to be found a fraud), then a 2915-3 for about 400k, then other Ck2915-1 about 35K.
If it were me, I’d be curious for a more precise assessment. Of course with that he could go to an auction house appraiser, but can you blame someone for turning here first?

If I had price estimates with such a wide range, 300K or 30k, frankly it wouldn’t occur to me to try to sell it on a forum.

PS and now that I read those values and articles, @Butzakefali do not let anyone touch or change ***ANYTHING*** on your watch, inside or outside.
No polish or brushing, or cleaning, or removal of dirt or crud. Just let it be the way it is.

Is your father still alive? Might not appreciate your selling it if that's your intent.

Of course if you don't need the money to foolishly spend on the fad of the month item

Would be an even more expensive watch when your close to retirement age

So, what is your Status rgd. This Speedy ? Are you still in Australia? If you do , there are many possibilities to restore / get it back to working condition for quite reasonable Money Amounts . Let me know, where you are if you want some practical solutions. A very good calibre 321 specialist with rather faster turnover timeline is in Brisbane. Better use PM in this case. And once it is serviced and a new original crystal with the wide Chrome ring installed, it is more than ready for wear. That's what they are made for. Nobody will steal that one if left basically untouched outside ....
