G'day to all, this is my first post. Introducing my late father's Speedmaster 2915-3. Well worn, probably nearly every day. All original including the lube, I was amazed that he still had the original purchase receipt from 1959.

Your inbox is probably melting 😁.

You probably have no wish to sell it, but if you do decide to, take your time and don'a accept the first offer that comes along.

Not sure why he had that extra clasp, didn't know there was a long and a short.
Possibly replaced during/for repair. Just be glad he kept it around instead of tossing it, as it is quite rare and sought after 😀

So, what is your Status rgd. This Speedy ? Are you still in Australia? If you do , there are many possibilities to restore / get it back to working condition for quite reasonable Money Amounts . Let me know, where you are if you want some practical solutions. A very good calibre 321 specialist with rather faster turnover timeline is in Brisbane. Better use PM in this case. And once it is serviced and a new original crystal with the wide Chrome ring installed, it is more than ready for wear. That's what they are made for. Nobody will steal that one if left basically untouched outside ....

Wellcome, and what a lovely watch with a wonderful history!
What have you learned and maybe got DM.s during these months between your posts?
And maybe some more pictures of the movement, inside the caseback etc?
Future plans??
😀

Amazing watch and heirloom. I’d love to see it once it’s been clean up a bit.

Interesting to see one with broad arrow hands and black bezel. Nice piece! Thank you for sharing.

What a full set indeed!! And a reference that I don't have in my collection, either! ::rimshot::

I would be very tempted to have that glass replaced though, so you could see the beautiful dial.
Would I be doing the right thing boys and girls, what do you think? Maybe I just couldn't go through with it...

Thanks for sharing - it's not often we see a bona-fida full set and in completely original state. One for the museum.

That glass needs to be polished first.

No fun not seeing the dial. Replace and keep the old crystal and you are good to go.
