My cal. 321 is giving me hypertension…

Just back (literally) from a full overhaul, seemed to be running slow, put it on the timegrapher:

They said it was within spec when it left the shop. No trauma since receiving it, not yet worn. What could cause this? Thanks.

Poor service work? Whatever the cause, hand it back and ask for it to be remedied.

EDIT: you beat me to it David, and rather more succinctly too!

No maintenance, no new battery, no setting the time, ever. All yours for a once-off fee of about 170 (I got mine on sale for 100).

Hypertension can be serious and I have grave concerns for your health. Send watch to me I just did a 5 miles hike which included some rock climbing I noticed no chest pain I’m pretty sure I can handle it.

Sure thing. Just tell me why the beat error and amplitude can be within spec. and why the rate is so low, and I will give it some serious consideration…

Is that the reading in the best position, or the worst position?

Just took it dial up, didn’t have the gumption to go further.

For shits and giggles, I just tested this other cal. 321 I have, that hasn’t been worn or serviced in over 20 years. Just wanted to be sure the timegrapher wasn’t flaking out:

A repairer that uses the excuse of “These watches get old and worn, and sometimes can’t be brought into spec.” isn't much of a repairer. You have struggled a lot with this watch with this service provider. You say it is a service shop that is held in high regard, maybe, but your experience hasn't been good even though you have given them ample opportunity to fix it. Time to out them, imo. Perhaps other forum members have experience with this shop and can give you some direction because it doesn't seem like they are doing much to get your watch back into any kind of reasonable spec.

Was the watch shipped to you? Sometimes a screw comes loose or there may be some debris in the movement. I can't imagine they would have released it running so poorly.

Based on the other thread, it seems like they would.

The watch was overhauled, sent back to me, parameters all over the place. Sent back, te-adjusted, pics sent, Dally rate good, low amplitude (under 270 in all positions) and beat rate 1.1.

When I asked about it, they said, “These watches get old and worn, and sometimes can’t be brought into spec.”

It may just be that the regulator has moved slightly. You need more information, similar to what I said in your other thread:
https://omegaforums.net/threads/is-this-watchmaker-excuse-legit.144163/page-2#post-1965881

The dial up beat error you've shown is fine and the amplitude is fair so, if you show the six position graphs at full wind (+30 minutes) with the chrono off, this will give a better idea.

Good luck, Chris

Thanks, Chris. Will post that.

Hi Chris,

Here are the results at full wind. Many thanks.
