I have an old Seamaster from 1966 with cal. 321. I have tried to sell it for some time now, but it seems without any interested buyers - although my price seems very resonable. Seems that the Speedmasters have taken all the interest and left the Seamasters in a ditch - although they have many great features and movements to back them up. Any thoughts?
Take good quality, hi-res pics from all angles and under both artificial and natural light and put them on eBay as a no reserve 7 or 10 day auction and start it at 99 cents. Provide a good honest description and a title containing pertinent search terms. You'll make whatever the current market value is for your watch, perhaps a bit more if you get a couple people who have to have it. Good luck.
This definitely seems like a veiled sales offer. If nobody is interested, your price is not as reasonable as you think. The cushion-case pieces have a limited fan-base.
Doesn't seem very veiled to me Do these cases typically have this radial finish on the front, and not 'starburst' like many others of this shape? Or it it a sign the case may have been refinished at some point?
Both finishes were available according to my observations. See my research thread on this Seamaster family
Fair enough. In any case, I think we are all familiar with watchrecon, so anyone on OF who is looking for this model has already seen his watch. It will sell if priced correctly.
Amazed the OP hasn’t replied or thanked anyone for their kind comments. Looks like the posting did what it was aimed to do and drum up interest - or point out that he is asking too much and now everyone knows it
