MoonSwatch in a Speedmaster Case?

This may be a stupid question on my part. And apologies in advance, because you might have to look at an eBay auction to answer it. But it looks to me like someone went to the trouble of putting a MoonSwatch dial and handset on a Brand X quartz chronograph movement, stuffing it into a Speedmaster case, and selling the whole thing for a little over $600 US. Is that what this is, or am I missing something?

I can’t exactly figure out why anyone would want the watch, but I’m wondering if I missed the opportunity to buy a service case and a 1998 bracelet for 600 bucks.

100% counterfeit, you dodged a bullet as there are no genuine Omega parts in that creation.

Looks the same as the fake Speedies with those Sunon movements.
$600 is a lot to pay for a fake franken.

Indeed, I’ve hit reported it as counterfeit since none of it is real Omega, hopefully the sale gets cancelled

There is also no swatch parts in these. Counterfeit moonswatch taken apart, dial and hands removed and put on to a different movement and then into a Counterfeit steel case.

I saw these start to pop up last week and thought someone had figured out how to open a moonswatch case, turned out it was knockoff moonswatches being used (reddit)

You did yourself a favor not buying it. As everyone else said above, it’s a fake.

This is actually funny… the spacing of the letters on the caseback is horrible and inconsistent, but it’s like they ran out of space with “for all” and combined it to one word “forall”

Edit to add: Just look how tidy the lettering/spacing is on a genuine caseback.

There is so much wrong with this case that isn’t worth highlighting, but just to point to one super obvious- look at the spacing between the pushers and the crown.

No Speedmaster Professional has that spacing. In my photo below, look at the spacing of the pushers on the MoonSwatch compared to the 1861 case. They aren’t compatible to start with because they are different.

Makes sense. I saw it after the fact and didn’t take a close look at it.
