Help identifying a Speedmaster case

Hi,

I've done a bit of reading on here and other sites, but haven't found the answer yet (please don't yell if it's in some place obvious, I haven't found it).

When I bought my Speedmaster a few years ago, it came with a replacement case and the original (rather grubby) case. The watch is now back on the original case and I have the other one spare, but I have no idea what it is from, if it's original or some knockoff. It has no markings or numbers that I can see, the only thing I can see is the engraved Omega logo in the middle of the glass.

Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thank you.

David

Here's a website for vintage cases, but I couldn't verify yours from your pics. Your crown looks modern too:

In addition to the case profile, compare your pushers to others, ie size of caps and are the tubes pressed in or screwed in.

Hopefully this link will be of interest. It's very educational, even if it doesn't answer your immediate questiion.

Since this is your first post, curious about where you're from and your interest in Speedmasters or watches in general.

Welcome.

Thanks for the link, I'll take a proper look once I've stopped pretending to work.

I'm in Rugby, UK and have been into watches for about 10 years. My tastes have changed a lot over that time, so I've ended up selling ones I've fallen out of love with and buying new ones. I don't have as many as I used to as buying a house tends to get in the way. My current Omegas are, my '67 Speedmaster (this topic), an Aquaterra (Bumblebee) and a Marstimer. Also a CWC diver and a couple of GShocks.

This is my Speedie as it is now, with the other case (possibly the original one as it's in much worse condition).

Nice group, you've got a watch for every occasion. You experience of going through watches to find what you're interested in sounds like a mature collector. Me personally, I am still working on that, although I am narrowing it in, finally.

When you get time, you're current case does look like an original Mark 4. A straight on shot of the lugs would expect to be narrower than other cases. Curious to see what the inside of the caseback says. It's a nice looking case, in any case. 😉

Ps, I don't pretend to be an expert. There many other forum members who are the real experts. Just trying to help a wee bit.

Here's my shock.
