So smarmy and witty. Based on your PhD in Psychology you have also been able to perfectly profile me and my intentions, including my, obviously, covert desire to trick everyone into thinking I am simply posting to serve myself.... G-d forbid there should be a marketplace better than the cesspool of eBay where like minded collectors can reach out to one another, do their due diligence and transact... Whatever, enjoy your views from the ivory tower.

(1) I would just like to say (as you are no doubt looking at this despite your ban): I work in the ivory tower, and effectively no one in said tower wears clothing acceptable to even man the register at J. Crew, let alone sport a (non-Apple) watch worth even three bills.

(2) No one who works in the ivory tower (or my local church) is such a shrinking violet that they would omit the "o" from "God"; was that for you, or the bevy of academics you were thinking you were talking to?

(3) We can let that slide, since you clearly need to bone up on what PhDs in Psychology do (hint: research, not clinical diagnosis).

(4) ...know your audience?

Complaining about the post threshold; how original. No one has ever done that before...

You're still ahead of my pace; I've been here a little over a year. At this rate I'll hit 200 sometime in 2027.

You'll probably hit 200 long before I get anywhere near 200 meaningful posts.
Good luck!

this thread needs to be a sticky

This is customary in Jewish tradition. You should not take the Lord’s name in vain (one of the Top 10, IIRC). Therefore, you write it with the dash, because all written words are considered to be ephemeral and will be destroyed one day. Even on the internet.

I’ll take it you are not one of the “bevy of academics” he was talking to.

🤦 Just to make the point, would OP still feel the same if he had the requisite posts? No, of course not, so my fatherly advice to OP: do what everyone else does, get involved, participate, engage meaningfully (relatively 😀) where and when you can and before you know it you will have your requisite posts; in the meantime there is Craig's List, Gumtree or whatever there is where you are located. Seems pretty straight forward to me. 🙄

It’s a pity im so late to this thread. I’m an avid collector of hands and always love to trade right hands for wrong hands. I love hour and minute and second hands, and even chrono hands. GMT hands are ok too…

sometimes I just give hands away and I like to surprise by paying double the asking prize just because this way they are more valuable to me.

it’s an obsession. There’s no trade or sale or purchase I can ever pass…. But alas! I only buy or sell on Sundays between 3 and 4 AM to and from people that don’t complain about the forum.

If I’m not mistaken not using God in Hebrew is not about “thou shall not use the lords name in vain” but more because you are trying to name something that the human mind can not comprehend. Mind you I’m not Jewish and could be wrong but I spent a lot of time in flushing NY and that is how a Rabbi explained it to me.

You’re Catholic, close enough.

A priest, a pastor and a rabbi walk into a bar and soon begin arguing over who’s the best at what they do.

Eventually they decide that in order to prove who’s the best, they would all go out alone into the woods and convert a bear to their respective religion.

A few weeks later.. they meet up at the bar and the priest announces, "I found a bear by the river and started talking to him about the Lord. He liked it so much that he now comes to mass every week."

The pastor says, "Well, I saw a bear in the clearing. I started reading him the bible and he loved it so much that he is now going to be baptized in about a week."

The priest and the pastor turn to look at the rabbi, who now has a broken arm, a fractured collarbone and several cuts and bruises. The rabbi says, You know what, looking back.. maybe I shouldn't have started with a circumcision

A man is standing at a urinal and the guy next to him asks:
“Are you from New York”.
“Why yes he replies!
“ Jackson heights?” he asks next?
“Yes- yes” he replies
“And you went to Temple Beth-Am.” The man replies.
“Yes, yes- holy cow- how did you know, are you psychic??” The man exclaims

“No, I too went to temple Beth-Am and I know that Rabbi Rubinstein tended to cut on a bias.... and you just pissed on my shoe”.

His circumcisions from ‘64 has no bias, but they did from ‘65...
