This isn’t going to work out like OP planned.

ETA only 4 more posts and I can buy and sell, WOOHOO

Reported.

Irrational early exuberance.

I was standing in line at the airport screening a few years ago and the guy in front of me was arguing with the TSA agent about how his Swiss arm knife is not a weapon. He refused to surrender it and the agent wouldn’t let him through- holding up the entire line. As the very calm agent went to get support- the guy turned around and looked back at me and said “aren’t these rules ridiculous?!”. I replied “this is not an argument you are going to win”.
His face turned to anger and he said “who fυcking asked you!”.
Immediately after saying it, he turned around to two armed officers who escorted him out of line- Instant karma.

I guess it must be my age, since I was taught that when I was a guest I had to follow whatever rules were posted.

Always worked for me. Considering this is a privately owned forum, we're all guests. So what's the issue?

That’s exactly what people seem to forget too often. They could ban the word Kiwi and only allow watches to be posted made in years the Aussies won the Ashes - their place, their rules. It’s that easy.

To the OP: A wise man once said: “Don’t try to negotiate a later bed time if you’re still wearing footed pajamas.”

You must work for the TSA.
Corrections, I knew how to de-escalate and give choices, but you also learn when give ultimatums enforce them. Sad though.

The annual ‘the mods are idiots’ post is early this year

So smarmy and witty. Based on your PhD in Psychology you have also been able to perfectly profile me and my intentions, including my, obviously, covert desire to trick everyone into thinking I am simply posting to serve myself. Brilliant. The fact that I am trying use vintage and recycled parts by choice is obviously lost on you. I will make sure to reach out to you next time I need advice or need someone to help me identify my evil intentions. G-d forbid there should be a marketplace better than the cesspool of eBay where like minded collectors can reach out to one another, do their due diligence and transact. I am sure that the 200 post rule has repelled all of those rascals who just don’t have the patience to make 200 comments so they can rip someone off.
Whatever, enjoy your views from the ivory tower.
Go stroke your ivory tower. Elsewhere.

There is.

It's here.

It has rules.

If you don't like the rules, you don't have to play.

Look on the bright side: at least it’s 200 posts and not 200 likes that you need.

Oh my. A rebel. Sexy. Like James Dean except with watch hands. Jayco, let me impart this one bit of wisdom: The forum is privately owned, and the owners can manage it as they/he pleases. It is a very successful forum whose members will absolutely agree that you, not the moderators are a tool, and despite your best Marlon Brando, you are not going to win this one. Personally, I think you're TUFF and would compare you to a young David Cassidy or Leif Garrett. FIGHT THE POWER. heh

I just noticed at the end of the diatribe he included a bit of selfless reasoning to make his case when he emphasized there might be people just dying to have his incorrect hands but that they will never get them due to stodgy rules. So it's not even about HIM. He just wants to get his old hands to some needy watch owner. Cmon MODs.
Condescension. So cool.

Was going on a three week trip to Costa Rica. Had a rain jacket with lots of pockets. I lost two Swiss Army knives going through TSA. I had no time to arrange for them to be shipped home. I console myself still with the thought that someone is putting them to good use.

Hmmm, is this one of those things where you need to find the differences between the two images?

Well since the moderators are ridiculous I’ll just share this moment of wonder. 3-4 years ago however long it was, might be 5 now, when I got my fingers crushed at work the ER had to cut of my wedding ring. They said I’d be able to wear it in a year. A year turned into two, then at 2 years six months they said it was safe to wear my wedding ring. Could not find the damn thing. Recently redid my cabinets putting all the draws back finally found it after all these years. My watch maker said he wants to refit/put it together for free as a thank you. I certainly will have him do it just will ask him to charge me the regular amount, unless it’s like thousands of dollars then I’ll except his nice gesture.

The op understands the reasoning for the 200 post rule, tries to get around the 200 post rule and is warned and wonders why the post was removed while admitting he tried to bypass it.

I mean… normally this is the kind of thing that makes me happy. Witty retort, snarky public shaming, allusions to logical fallacies…

I must be growing as a person.

Thanks for this - an entertaining accompaniment to my coffee and muesli 👍

The OP is correct though, it is ridiculous how much of their hard-earned spare time the moderators put in to running this forum.
