Masters Watch

Does anyone know anything about a possible connection between Omega and the Masters golf tournament in regards to the official tournament watch from 2003? I can't find any information online, but when you look at the watch it seems to be a Seamaster without the helium valve. I've attached a picture but you can see some more from a past auction here https://thegolfauction.com/lot-75981.aspx

This site says it's the ladies watch, but I haven't been able to find the dimensions anywhere to be able to tell if there were large and small sizes or just the one size. https://www.buya.com/Item/Details/2003-AUGUSTA-MASTERS-LADIES-WATCH/422b9849c7714aa882b8bfa6920ade1f

Did the Masters just blatantly rip off the Seamaster? Or did they take the quartz Seamaster and change it with the approval/help of Omega?

Various slight differences I've noticed are the single dash marker at 12 o'clock and the dots on the bezel instead of hash marks for the first 15 minutes. The lugs are also slightly less twisted. I still have not found out any more information on the watch but am super interested to know how/why the Masters decided to knock off Omega if that is indeed what they did.

I'd say it comes from the same factory that pumps out Omega counterfeits (replicas/fakes).

Maybe somebody in the golfing world has contacts in the watch production business.

I'll bet that there is nothing Omega there.

It may not even be related to the Masters or golf at all.

Different Bezel scallops and pip , bezel wider than Omega, bezel numbers does not extend to the width of the bezel, crown sits too far form case, flat not rounded off top off crown, no twisted lugs just rounded off corners, metal framed date window.

Considering that Rolex has been the official sponsor of the tournament since 1999, I think you can be certain that Omega did not make that watch. A quick google search finds lots of these watches for sale from every year going back to the early 2000s, all quartz, all with the green dial and Masters logo, and all “limited.” The style changes year to year, and I saw ones that looked like copies of TAG Aquaracers and Rolex Daytonas. Also found a link for the 2023 watch from the gift shop at Augusta National — these are sold to fans in the gift shop each year during the tournament.

So, nothing special. Just the gift shop finding a cheap vendor and using a popular style watch of the moment in order to make money from fans. If you are a golf fan, might be worth having, but not for a lot of money.
