Let's not forget that the first wristwatch worn on a spaceflight mission was worn by ... a dog !
March 9, 1961 ... Chernuchka "Blackie" wore a Pobeda 😁

My Plot/pitbull mix of many years ago liked to sit upright in chairs and in car seats.
he would sit upright in the seat of my old Ford pickup truck keeping his balance with one paw stretched to touch the dash.

On occasion he would sidle over till shoulder to shoulder with me and then put his left front leg across my shoulders and hold his head against mine while studying the road ahead intently with his right paw on my right wrist.
He began experimenting with steering a bit. if he saw something interesting on the side of the road he tried to steer towards it.

Great dog, totally fearless as are all Plot and with more muscles than a batman costume.
He took a heavy aluminum cooking pot between his paws and crushed it like a beer can then bit about a hundred holes in it. it looked like something found after a Grizzly Bear raid.
He liked to climb vertical cliff faces at the lake like a mountain goat and dive about 60 feet into the waters of a deep feeder creek there like those Mexican cliff divers. He would repeat this dozens of times before being called back.
We called him "Blitz-Arado" after the WW2 German jet bomber. His marking were much like those of the night bomber version.
