Hello all. I saw this Eterna-matic Kontiki 20 on the Bay a few days ago. I love the dial, the fact the date window is the same color as the dial, the size of the case, 36.5mm....but I have been here long enough to realize the case has been over polished. Or, so I think....maybe I am over analyzing and the pics were just taken in a light box....I can still see some facets can't I? Am I correct in my first thought or are the pics just over exposed? I am thinking the ding on the top right lug was polished to try and remove it. I am getting old.....are my eyes failing me. Thank you in advance for any thoughts on this and if anyone has one of these rotting in the back bottom of your watch box, pm me, please.

It does look well polished, as many watches of this vintage sadly are. Having said that I like the look of the watch overall, I guess it comes down to its price, and whether there will be another one around in better condition any time soon.

The seller on eBay describes the dial as 'gray', although the photos do suggest a bluish tint.

There seem to be a few of these on offer at similar prices (they look nice but I’ve never owned an Eterna) so, as @rob#1 says, you pays your money and .....

Thank you all for your help and for chiming in. I do appreciate it, as as much as that dial sings to me, I will wait for a better example to appear. Again, thank you all who responded.
