... can it be original to a Seamaster model?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271775575052?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

The dial's apparently redone and hands don't appear to match.

The Railmaster and Ranchero were produced with this style dial. Were any later Seamaster models supplied with the dial? Would be a big help to know when sorting through the many renditions of this dial as seen on Ebay auctions and elsewhere.

That's gone, but I think the only Seamaster with that dial style was the 2990.

    Oh ... I'm so ashamed!

Well, at least I learned that there was real Seamaster variant with the "noob magnet" dial with micampe's photo and I have a number, 2990 as reference.

Last summer I allowed myself to be deliberately suckered into a '59 Seamaster with a 520 movement and having this style dial. Didn't feel too badly about it though. Total cost was $217on Ebay including shipping and the watch runs great after a basic service. Makes a good "Friday casual" watch to wear at the office and I do love the styling of the dial. Enjoyed it all day today, in fact.
