Hello all, I recently picked this up at auction and I'm looking to get it running again, and the crystal polished/replaced. Any recommendations as to who would be up to the task?

Thank you kindly.

Does Seiko do factory service? I might consider that? Otherwise, we have lots of independents to recommend if you share your location and willingness to ship.

If you let us know where you reside you might get some useful response.

I’m in east central Indiana, on the Ohio border. I anticipated the need to ship.

From the research I did a few weeks ago, I don’t think Seiko will service this one.
Thanks.

Are you trying to get it polished and returned to "near new" condition or just wanting the movement serviced and seals checked?

I’d like to get the crystal polished or replaced, but leave the case as is, and service the movement. The crown turns but does not wind the spring, then meets resistance before “snapping” free and turning again.

Bummer that it's missing the medallion from the back, but a neat watch. There's a number of folks that specialize on vintage Seiko in the U.S., but none on vintage KS/GS models that I'm aware of.

It is a bummer. I'm a self described "artisan jeweler", so if I do get it going, I might try my hand at some type of medallion. I even thought about making a leather one with King Seiko logo stamped into it.

I'm sure you can find a replacement medallion for these, although it might require you scouring Ebay or Yahoo Auctions. But the custom medallion idea is very cool as well. Either way, it just needs something to fill the void.
