Hi All,

I recently acquired this vintage King Seiko and the person who sold it did not have any service records from the previous owner.

I am looking for a trusted watchmaker to perform a full maintenance service. Recommendations with direct experience greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Oooh you did nice with the box and bracelet. I’ve had several vintage seiko including KS serviced by competent local watch makers. They all came out nicely. Or are you looking for someone who specializes in seiko?

@Walrus

Yes, I am very excited with the find. The uninstalled buckle to the side is also KS signed but it is hard to see on the above picture. If the watchmaker is Seiko specialized, it would be better I guess. Who have you had the best experience servicing KS?

He has serviced two of my Seikos. Some may match him, but there are none better.

Thank you, I'll check them out. Can he fabricate parts? I know these have an Achilles' heel; the day/date corrector wheel rocker. According to the seller there are currently no issues setting the day/date but I would like the part to be replaced/upgraded when serviced. The part in question may have to be fabricated if need be. Below the part:

That won't be cheap if fabrication is needed, no matter who services the thing. You might as well start looking online for one if you insist on having it replaced.

It'll be best if you contact him directly with all your questions. He's a good communicator. Recognize that as a watchmaker, he works on watches during the day so may not respond immediately.

Good luck.

Go figure, I just found these from Thailand and ordered a pair just in case. In the end I'll just leave the part replacement to the watchmaker assessment and judgment.

In case someone else is interested in a spare part for future need.

It will help if you state your location. It’s no good members suggesting UK watchmakers if you’re in Australia

I believe there's already a metal version being made by someone...I know Ashton has mentioned it on other forums.

Hi Archer. Yes, I was looking for a metal version and could not find it.

I see the design being somewhat different. I will contact the seller to confirm fitting. Thanks a lot.

It's for your series of movements...5626 is one of the calibers listed, which is what your watch has.
