I have a few chronographs including a 1915 regina cushion trench watch to a mono pusher Pierce from the 1940's. Looking for reasonable service preferably in the U.S. I would entertain abroad if costs seem reasonable. Thank you

There's lots of good options--where in the US are you?

At one time, there was a WM (Matt Becher) in Ohio who was the Pierce Guru because he had NOS parts and much experience with the movements, which were different from all others because they did not want to pay royalties for patent rights.

At one time, there was a WM (Matt Becker) in Ohio who was the Pierce Guru because he had NOS parts and much experience with the movements, which were different from all others because they did not want to pay royalties for patent rights.
Thanks, any idea about trying to look him up these days?

EDIT: I retract the below as I have not yet personally used them, just have been recommended.

I was strongly recommended Grand Central Watch in NYC - they do mail ins.

I am about to send them a Wakmann Triple Date chrono that decided to attempt suicide on a tile floor...

Interesting. Please tell me more!

Overpriced. Inconsistent quality of work. Over the years I have purchased two watches that had been recently serviced by them, and both needed attention by my watchmaker, who identified issues that hadn't been addressed properly. If you search the forum, you will some satisfied customers, but also a number of people who were disappointed. Just not the type of reviews one would hear about a truly top-notch watch repair shop IMO.

That's probably enough for me to give them a miss...

Back to the drawing board!

@billving has a shop he uses on the gold coast in CT. Perhaps he can advise. Can’t find the name in my records. I have PM’d two suggestions of reliable shops.

Try this guy. WOSTEP trained and specialized in omega.

He’s based in Ottawa Canada but does take mail ins and I’ve had great experience with him while I was based in Canada. Unfortunately being based in Singapore now, it’s a bit more challenging so I’m hoarding all the pieces I need to get done and putting them aside for my next visit to Canada. With the exchange rate factored in it may be cost effective for you.
