Hi guys, I had some free time on my hands today so I thought I would post some pictures of a few watches that I have acquired over the last couple of years. I got this 166.020 quite recently. It cost an arm and a leg, but couldn't pass up the immaculate dial Then an SM 600 I am quite please with this one as it is in very, very good condition Although not Omega, this one does have historic links to the brand This is a Super Compressor case housing a cal 3000. These cases were made by EPSA and supplied to many watch manufacturers incl. JLC, Longines. The interesting bit is that most were destined for dive watches. But the closest this Lemania would have gotten to water is during evening cocktails. I believe even the crown on this has been branded differently with a hashed surface across the Lemania logo as opposed to being smooth to show off the Super Compressor status. And then some marketing on the back side Though I don't picture it here, (because it is a pain to put together again) when you open up the case back there is a metallic gasket which has bends like those in a lady's hairpin. This makes it springy when pressed down horizontally. As for example when you want to screw the case back up again. Hope this was not too boring but I thought I would share something non-Omega
It's always nice to see someone else collection. Very nice examples you have there. Thanks for sharing and welcome.
Thanks Tritium! I am not a good photographer so I always feel that I don't do justice to how fabulous these watches look. Or it could be that the 'amazing looking watch' is all in my head. Thanks again for the compliment
Impressive selection, nice balance of designs in your collection! I like the two textured constellations and the black dial Seamasters!
Thanks everybody for the kind words. Though, I probably cannot match the knowledge of many of the posters on this forum, I am happy to hear that the experts like my efforts. There are a couple of of SS connies and an 18K deluxe dial that are being serviced, so will post those later. The Geneve (cal 2xx based) line is also something I should post one of these days. Cheers
That's one of the great things about this place. Some of us love watches and have beautiful examples but not the in-depth knowledge to understand their history/significance etc. There are other members who have a huge amount of knowledge and help us by "edificating the ignorant " And then there are the real professionals who not only have some stupendous collections, but also have "the knowledge" and unselfishly share it. It's a nice place to be a part of.
