Looking for advice: Omega Constellation Grand Luxe

Hello fellow members of that forum,

this is my first post here. I'm not much of an collector or enthusiast when it comes to luxury watches, but in the end, I own one. There is only one problem: I don't know for sure, which kind of watch it is, which year it was procuded and which value it has (material, it has one for me anyways 😀 ). According to my own reasearchs it has to be a Constellation Grand Luxe from the 50s. During my research I also found your forum. That's why I decided to take some pictures of the watch and share it with this community. I think the watch, especially the bracelet is in a very good shape, as fas as I know it was never worn. I only have the box, no papers (it's mine, don't worry). I didn't dare to remove the back of the watch for a look inside. As I mentioned before, I have no clue and though I feared to damage it when I try to open it.

Maybe you can answer my questions, correct me if I was wrong and tell me more about that shiny piece that lies in my drawer for so many years 😀

If the movement number starts 24xxxxxx then it’s from 1966.

I totally will! I am glad the jeweler told me that it didn‘t affect the inside of the watch and so it‘s pretty easy for him to fix it. Thanks for your answer, fits my own research.

Yes, that shape of case is mid 1960s and so is the Caliber 564. The serial numbers were NOT used anywhere close to sequentially, they can easily be 2-3 years off in either direction. If you really want to know you can take it to an Omega boutique and pay them $150 and Omega will look it up in their archives and send you a lovely certificate. This is the 1960s style of Grand Luxe. The 1950s Grand Luxes were a little bit grander: solid gold stepped dials and applied gold arrowhead hour markers. On the plus side the 560 series calibers are excellent.
