I think the general consensus is that Omega are pushing the envelope when it comes to maximum amount of LE watches produced in a year 😉
Are you competing for the "2018 Euphemism of the Year" award?

My personal view on the Trilogy watches, is that the railmaster is the best value, the most attractive, and the one that will likely be most desirable in years to come.

Time will tell.

And as to the shock and awe that lots of LE's are easily available... come on guys... were suspicious of private sellers of watches using smoke and mirrors to sell... we should be doubly suspicious of brands.

Look at all the old LEs that sat, and often still do sit, unsold in OB safes.

There are at least 2 Speedmaster 50th full big box sets still in London boutiques... 10 years after they went on sale.

There were still a couple of Alaska projects floating around London OBs in 2016... 8 years after that watch went on sale.

Don't believe the hype. 😉
Do you by chance mean that a
311.30.42.30.01.001 is still available somewhere in London? If so, would you mind letting me know which that OB is?

Not at all a surprise those are still available. The only that perhaps shouldn't be is the Railmaster, but they made too many of those. Should have done just 1957 of each.

Lately i believe 311.30.42.30.01.005 starts to become a collectible item rather than Unlimited Limited Editions. Perhaps this is the way Omega in its own conception wants to move where Rolex is? No LE but hype is grandeur and queues are splendidly long from brand’s point. ::rimshot::

Going back to the original point; yes, there are many LE’s still on stock at OBs and ADs in Europe as well.

In the last two weeks, I visited two and found;
- Railmaster 50th LE and CK2998 Pulsometer LE at Oberhausen (CentrO)
- Seamaster 50th LE and 007 Seamaster LE at Amsterdam airport

All advertised at prices slightly below RRP. The good part of all this; if you’ve missed out on an LE and would like to have the buying experience at an AD, it is definitely still possible! 😀

I don’t know what that is... my ability to think in modern reference numbers is strangely lacking. 😗

Nor do I know what stock Omega have 😉

Your best bet, if you’re looking for something, is to ask individual boutiques. 👍

But you just said you went through and know which one? Sorry for sending just the ref. It is Patch or Seahorse one.

I’ve seen things in stock, on display in boutiques... I don’t work for Omega, or know what stock they’re holding where.

But they have what, 5 stores in London? Some of them open for 10 years plus, all of them holding a ton of stock.

If you’re looking for something, give them a call, it’s amazing what can be “found” in a safe when you ask. 👍

The big box 50th Anniversary Speedmaster, has an enamel dial, chronometer grade movement... and is in a big wooden box filled with tools:

A couple of months back, there was one in the window of Royal Exchange, and another on display in Regents Street. Different LE numbers, so they’re not just shuffling stock around.

The reason why that one didn’t fly is that it has a hobbled 3313 movement rather than an 1861. It’s a rule of thumb which I don’t fully understand that no Speedy without an 321/861/1861 will be hugely desirable on the aftermarket. I really like the 3313 personally but there it is.

Agreed.

I personally find the LE number on the dial awkward and off putting... much like the trilogy set.

It probably doesn't help to clear stock when they've been applying price increases to it since launch in 2017 - it's now nearly £9k when you can easily find them in the grey market for £5-8k

£9k? WOW. Good luck shifting that then.

Thanks. Got it! It is not the one I am looking for.

This thread set me wondering how solid the demand for the Ultraman really is. Theoretically, the watches were all booked within 25-30 minutes I was told. We will know soon...

If the ST1 is anything to go by, there's likely to be availability once people can't make a qucik profit by buying them to sell on.

Looks like the ST1’s are going for above MSRP at the moment (listed price, I’m not sure what they’ve actually sold for). Demand is still there for the ST’s.

They’re listed for more than RRP, but that really doesn’t mean much... and availability is good, making it more of a buyers, than a sellers market.

I helped 3 people sell on their ST1’s around 10 months after launch... none of them got much over RRP... demand (once there wasn’t big profit to be made) was lower than supply.

I’m lead to believe there are still a quantity of unclaimed ST1s sat in boutiques too... Bond Street... ahem.

With 2019 and 2020 being such significant years for 50th anniversary releases, I know what I'm saving up my pennies for. I've seen examples of a 60th anniversary Speedmaster and an ST1 sit in the marketplace for longer than I expected and at reduced prices over initial asking
