... so I did some window shopping today. And I was pretty much suprised on the amount of modern Omega LEs readily available:
Olypmic seamaster in red ... the most wanted one according to fellow members:

The Railmaster LE I had on my wrist about a year ago is also still there:

Commander Bonds watch is still waiting for a customer:

    The Cernan LE anybody?
    33447515zm[1].jpg

    And finally the doctors panda:

    Three ADs, 45min of walk.
I've found that a little bit disturbing.

Do you also experience that there seems to be significant LE stock that does not move for a longer period of time in your area?

Most surprised about the Railmaster. I thought all the trilogy went fast.

OK, ok, but the Railmaster and the doctors panda are not that bad, are they?

It is a nice model, but they made ~3,600 of them, which is kind of a lot. And the 60th Speedmaster sort of steals the spotlight

I feel like the demand for these was wildly overstated. For starters they made a ridiculous amount of them, even by Omega standards (3557 each). At $7,200 MSRP they were also quite expensive. I'm sure there's still plenty of them available at OBs if one wished to pay full price for some reason... but I don't know why you would. People were speculating that these would be trading well above retail -- and in fact they were, for a short period at the very beginning -- but now they're languishing in sales forums all over the place with asking prices well below MSRP. Even the Speedmaster.

I'm that idiot who bought a anniversary seamaster 300 from OB at full price. Never again. Phenomenal customer service though.

Guess they want to make sure the stores are full now that Rolex buyers can't spend their hard earned cash....

I've said this before elsewhere on the forum, but the Speedmaster was the only one of the three that might possibly have demand more than 3,557 units. The Seamaster has its adherents too, and I think a 2,000pc run might have sold out. The Railmaster though, is still a very niche interest in our already niche-y interest - I think a run of 500-1000 of those would have been much more appropriate. I love the Railmaster; the 2914 is my favorite of the original trilogy and it's the one I want most of the three new ones. But I bought the Seamaster instead because I thought it'd be more scarce / hold its value better on the secondary market, and so far I've been right. I'm keeping an eye on Railmasters and will probably make a move when they're at about $4k.

I did too and have absolutely no regrets - I wanted it and didn't want to wait, and even though it's depreciated it means nothing to me since it's one of my favorite modern watches I've ever owned and I doubt I'll willingly sell it on!

Same here. I liked it too much and didn’t want to wait. Plus it wasn’t widely available on watch forums at that time. Sick combination of vintage design and modern movement.

I also saw the full trilogy box at an AD two weeks ago. Thought those were gone long ago . If this will happen with the seamaster 48 special edition I might have to buy one...

I would be all over that Commander Bond Seamaster is it wasn’t for the 007 on the seconds hand. I really like the white dial with the commander strap though.

So these are now being sold below retail on secondary/grey market?

There was a trilogy seamaster at an Ad nearby less than a month ago. I wonder if it’s still there. I was definitely suprised to see it

I saw both Seamaster 300 and Railmaster 60th Anniversary LE in my AD’s window. Looks like it is not moving as fast as we would like to think. Too many pieces perhaps, or pricing issue?

I also find it strange-when i was in portugal this summer one of each of 57 rail, sea and speedmaster was readily available from a seller. When i got my speedy i was described as a very lucky man i got it because it was booked many times over, after that i have seen in multipel places. Fully booked and sold many times over seems to mean something else to omega:cautious:
