This one....

Because it's so pure with its blued steel hands, and because it's an issued Royal Air Force 1942 watch, reminding me about courage, commitment, and the things that really count.

Bought this c-shape connie from @Kringkily on something of a whim whilst waiting to find a pie-pan. George also sorted me out with a (gorgeous) steel pie pan and that's what I wore for a long time, while this c751 sat in the drawer attached to a flimsy jubilee bracelet that I just didn't enjoy. I eventually bought a 3011 bricks bracelet (1040 replacement) from ofrei and it made ALL the difference. Solid heft, comfort, great looks etc.

Now I can't get this thing off my wrist! It's my go-to for pretty much everything bar strict formal. Looks amazing in every light, keeps great time, I love the day-date function, nice inconspicuous size, huge power reserve: a keeper.

Well, this one is special perhaps for the reason my Grandfather purchased it in Italy before moving to Canada, and wore it every day of his life until I received it from my grandmother.

He worked in general labour, in concrete (shocking I know) and was a master of all trades. The watch was a constant on his wrist. I always ogled the watch as a child, and now I've learned that it's a 267 in a Ranchero Case according to an extract from the archives. Unfortunately someone polished it at some point, but some of his dings are still present. Also looks to have been redialled at some point based on my best guess??

Far from my most valuable watch, but it's the watch that got me started on this journey, and every time I wear it I feel my family history. And that in itself is something special.

I was traveling when this thread was initially created, so cheers for the bump. Was really fun to read through and see the favorite(s) of everyone, as well as the rationale behind them. Reallllly tough question though.

Gun to my head, I'd have to say the 2998-62 that I purchased from @marturx is the one I instinctively reach for when I don't know what to wear. The ghost bezel and authentic wear (from the original owner's decades of wear in the police force, eventually as the chief) are incredibly attractive to me. Also, the proportions are perfect for my wrist. So glad that I was able to persuade Martin to let go of it!

Runner-ups go to my UG Compax and Autavia 2446

When I first saw the title of this thread my inclination was to ignore it. I dunno...the idea just seemed kind of cheesy. And I'm sure similar-themed threads have been posted before. But now that I've taken a look, it has become one of my favourite threads. I find it fascinating getting a glimpse into what appeals most to individual Forum members. Thanks @jayrock26 for puttin' this one up!

...if stranded in a little village in Peru without money it is as good as hard currency.

That's one of the most sensible things I've ever read.

Mine is this UG Polerouter Date for a few reasons. It was my first "serious" Universal Geneve (it succeeded a Compax from the 1990s which I bought when I was still new to UG and didn't know the history as well as I do now). I also bought it from our very own, @jordn, who has since been a mentor to me. This also means that this watch has a direct link to our forum, which I have learned so much from.

And until now, almost 6 months since I bought it, I still find it beautiful. I love the lugs. The dial also constantly surprises me as its reflections and shadows change depending on the light. Anyway, here are two pics of it. The first is from when Jordan posted it on the sales forum. The second was the first time I ever put it on.

I only have 3 watches right now, but I'm young and just getting started!
I have to say my -76 Speedy is my favorite..it's my daily companion and the first watch I acquired myself. 😀
