Thanks Rman ! That is indeed beautiful !! As far as I can remember, that is exactly what it looked like on my grand father's wrist - the dial colour I mean, and the numbers & markers. The hands and numbers were lume. That was in '62. Memories! The original hands in the present state are as in the image I had posted. I do hope I'll be able get somebody in Bangalore to do the paint job. I can do the hairspring, not the paint job !! I think I'll skip the lume and leave the hands as they are Thank you mac_omega for your comments & micampe too. I really appreciate the help by you folks. I'll post the images when done. It will take some time though
...nice coincidence. I just get a 2639-1 from 1950 (sellers pics before cleaning the case and crown wheel):
Omega Ref. 2639-7, Cal. 265, Year: 1952 One of my top favorite pieces in stunning conditions. The case size of 36mm excl. the crown with the particular long hands made this reference one of the most comfortable and well looking Omega of that period.
That's a beauty, for sure, piero. If you ever consider selling, I'd like to call dibs (if the line is not already a long one.)
Thank you for your feedback dstern I appreciate it. Actually it’s not for sale but it could change as soon as I find the “right” Seamaster 120. I saved your post and I’ll keep you informed if there are any changes.
Oh man! That’s freaking awesome! Never seen before a Railmaster in such fantastic conditions. It could be a NOS and it’s for sure a super collector piece. Do you know the story of the watch? The prior owner was very gentle to the Omega during the last 60 years
