AFAIK it was when 30 SC T2 changed to 30 SC T2 PC (aka cal. 280) with Incabloc - will have to look it up for certainty...
Thanks. I am new in this forum joining yesterday. I am not a dealer. I have with me a 30T2SCRg Ref 2410-1 serial 10190362 which belonged to my grandfather who had picked it up in the immediate post war 40s It originally had a slate grey dial and compensation balance and Breguet hairspring. When it came into my hands the original balance and hairspring were irrecoverably damaged, set lever spring broken, and dial badly repainted white. I had serviced it myself and put in a plain balance and flat hairspring. I runs gaining about 4 minutes a day For sentimental reasons, I am interested in restoring it to as near a original shape as is possible spending not more than say $250 I will sincerely appreciate any advice and assistance I can get in this venture
We would need to see pictures in order to help you. A correct balance (if you can even find one) and service to install it will likely be more than $250. gatorcpa
Thank you gatorcpa I know :-(. Looks like I will have pick up something - compatible movement or running watch from eBay or something like that - and do the swapping / restoration myself. That's why I asked in this forum for help / advice I'll post some pictures later in the day as I am tied up with other things now
Posting some pictures of the 30T2SCRg I have. I had done the servicing myself some 40 years back. Please advise
Next step in restoration is the dial. Could somebody please help me pictures of the grey dial that came with 30T2 SC Rg Ref 2410-1 563. Thanks & regards
I hope for you that this balance will work - good luck. To my eyes it looks as if the hairspring is terribly bent in the area of the end curve...
Thank you mac_omega. Yes it is ! But I feel it is correctable, working very very slowly and carefully. About 7 bends need to be corrected Would you be able suggest what I should do with the dial ? It has already been repainted and badly
Hope this helps. Good luck and please post the results. Image borrowed from a very nice Swiss man. Now, let’s get this thread back on display mode.
