Yep, thanks for cooling down my enthusiasm. I went for safe option and got this pigskin box instead. Not historically correct for T17 but I'm more of a leather guy and actually prefer this over bakelite.
Seller claims the insert to be original which I doubt but not bothered by it anyway, it was cheap for £115. I do some leatherworking so will give it t some refurb when it arrives

Be aware that this box is quite small as it is meant for a ladies watch - I am afraid an average T17 watch will not fit into this box

It's 12cm X 4cm X 4cm, I gues it should be alright. Thankfully seller accepts returns if it happens to be too small.

Full sized ones do exist if you’re patient!

As long as it fits I actually prefer the smaller one.
There's a full size version on eBay which I have lined up as a backup plan, no cusion though.
That being said, any chance You could do some pictures of Your cusion? If I end up with full size box then I will try to replicate it.

I have to admit it, you guys have some serious CDO problems (that's OCD but in alphabetical order, the way it should be).

Anyone have any of these? I am always looking for them but rarely see.
Bakelite from the 30's, I think, comes in several colors.
Picture from the web.

@Wuza72 , you are a fully vested and respected member and can pretty much do anything as long as it's the truth and children aren't hurt!

Those are super cool but the insert is important and photo's of the hinge area to disclose any cracks.

If all is well, you are certainly more reasonable than the other listings.

Hello,

Very educating thread!

I recently bought a SM600 concentric dial (ST 135.011, Cal. 601, 1965). No original strap, buckle or box, though.

Do you happen to know which box might be period correct for my watch?

My Google image research indicates the following.

* Box
1960's Seamaster box, unfortunately the inside is missing.

What are you thoughts? Have any of your SM600 concentric dial watches had period correct box? Are they similar to other Seamaster boxes of that era?

Thanks!

I recently found this box. It doesn’t seem to be listed in this thread. Anyone knows when it’s from and potentially what models it was used for. Can’t seem to find any markings on it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
