Hi exerts,

as I did not get any response in my regular post I try it also here...

what do we have here?

It looks like an early Speedy/Railmaster box but it is lacking the Omega wording on top (below the seahorse)

Furher it is lacking the Omega logo on the front side...

The insert does not look correct either - it looks like a DIY replacement...

Is this a legitimate early Speedmaster/Railmaster box? Or is it a fake?

Or is it the famed "P" box? 😜

100% fake. I'll make you free from this burder.
I send you my address for shipment 😜😜
Kidding..
Maybe It's a prototype?
It's in stunning conditions!

Not unique in its origin, but this is the box for my 45th Apollo 11 Speedmaster. Flight Directors, astronauts, and a couple of Apollo astronauts

Hello everyone, I'm a new member who wants to find out about an Omega box. I guess this is the place to ask?
So, at some point my grandad must have had an Omega, all I have is the box (bummer), more gutting is I'd love an Omega lol!
I have decided to sell the box, as it's of little use to me. I had a really good look around on here, and on ebay (selling and sold/unsold) and I cannot find another one like it. There are tonnes with just 'Omega' written in the lid, but I haven't seen another with 'Omega' & 'Constellation' below, this leads me to think it may be rarer than normal?
I would say it's over 50 years old?
I would be interested in anything about it, what watch went in it, and obviously a value - sadly it's missing the internal red bit, but I believe you can replace those with another? wasn't glued in.

welcome @G0OSE
It looks like a late 60s or early 70s box.
Omega made boxes specifically for Constellations but also similar ones for other Omega watches, without the name.
All Constellation boxes should have Constellation written inside (but watches were sometimes sold with the wrong box, so sometimes you see a Connie in a box without the name)
There were several Constellations variations on the market in this era, so the box could have housed any of them.
The insert with the watch holder often goes missing and they are not that easy to find separately.
Being a later box without the insert means there isn’t a great deal of value in it I’m afraid.
Best thing would be to list it on eBay and see what people will bid for it.

hope that helps.

I thought its time for me to contribute as well. Been enjoying all your photos so far and I thank you for taking the time to share them.
Here are a few boxes from the crapload 🤦 I have that are somewhat more interesting.
So that's where all the interesting ones went.....

Anyone familiar with this one? I presume a 1950s Seamaster Calendar.. anyone know if it’s early 50s for a 2627/2757 or a bit later for a 2849 reference?

Missing the insert unfortunately..

Have searched around but was unable to determine what this box was used for. It measures
11,5 x 8 x 4,5 cm.

So can anyone help me date this box and if this one was used for any particular watches?

Would be very much appreciated!

Hi,
Do we have a bakelite box specialist here?
Really want one for my 1935 T17, found this on eBay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193328208808

I suppose anyone with 3d printer could open up a fakes, factory, condition seems to be too good for something this age, paper backing on cusion way too white and little cusion tab appears to be nylon.
Hard to do research on these, the 2 I've seen with good inside pictures, 1 had FAB SUISSE mark, the other SWISS MADE, could not find anything with stamp like the one from listing.

I guess I have answered my own question but having no experience/knowledge I may be missing something.

Edit
I went through all 18 pages again and found this is a box made by ISOLIT or at least it's pretending to be.

Any comments on authenticity would be very welcome.

I think I have the same, but mine is really more "red" than "brown" (maybe it is a low light effect on the photo?). Does anybody knows if it was the original box for a Constellation?

What are the odds of one professional seller having four hard to find 90 year old bakelite boxes for sale all at the same time and each in a condition that makes it look like they have just come out of a stasis chamber?

See if you can check back through their ebay sold items history.

The original box that came with my late grandfather’s Geneve 9kt, which I inherited twenty five years ago. There’s a dedication on both the watch and the box dating to 1972. Never really considered the provenance of boxes before, but it’s probably a standard issue for the UK market for that period

Yep, thanks for cooling down my enthusiasm. I went for safe option and got this pigskin box instead. Not historically correct for T17 but I'm more of a leather guy and actually prefer this over bakelite.
Seller claims the insert to be original which I doubt but not bothered by it anyway, it was cheap for £115. I do some leatherworking so will give it t some refurb when it arrives
