·Nobody on this thread thinks that luminova Speedmasters from the early 2000s will rise in price in the foreseeable future. From the perspective of various experienced collectors that seems like a nonsensical idea. There are huge numbers of them on the market and nothing particularly special about them. I understand that the OP is anxious about this, but I don’t know what else we can say.
And @KingCrouchy was absolutely correct, it’s illogical to cherry pick some 1970s Rolex sport models as an example of watches that should have been purchased 20 years ago. Apples and oranges.

So in essence, you’re contradicting him with your first sentence. You’re saying one thing, and he is saying another. BTW, I’m not as much as anxious but rather trying to make an informed decision, hence this thread. Also, at no point did I cherry pick Rolex’s outside of saying “Rolex SS sports models.” I said that purchasing a Submariner 10 years ago (mid-late 2000s) would have been a great idea. While the market may be slowly coming down now, there is no doubt it was high not too long ago (and in some cases still is).
Anyways, I appreciate your input. I’m not going to go out and sell my 321 for a second time! 👍
Edit: If I didn’t word it correctly, my apologies, but my original question in this thread is whether I made the correct choice to get my 321 back by selling a newish-Speedy. I think a couple people answered it, but outside of them, there has been a whole lot of picking nits, on all sides (including mine).
