Anything made by Illinois for $50 is a steal. Case and movement look to be in good condition. Just find some matching hands and maybe a dial and you're in business!

I wonder. The vintage diver market is moving up.
IMO, the diver "market" has peaked. Divers from less than well-known brands have stopped appreciating (as far as I can tell) and the market is flooded with a host of watches from various brands no-one have heard of, a lot of them using pretty much the same components as each other - the one @Dero13 has bought is a prime example of one such. But it is damn good looking all the same!
In completely unrelated news, these are my latest entries to the sub-$50 category:

Only bought them because of the BoR on the right one. That's my story and I'm sticking to it 馃う
Yeah, the flood of no brand divers is probably making an impact.
As far as the BOR purchase goes, well done. It's a great reason to buy. What size are the lugs on the BOR watch?
since my funds are limited, most of my purchases are in the under $50 category! Here are some I've landed over the last year:
1950s Pobeda - lovely dial and runs very smoothy. 拢20
late 50s or early 60s Gruen Precision. Case a little rough but nice dial/510RSS movement, wears very well and runs like a dream.
I dumped the bracelet. 拢23
1954 Pobeda. All original bar the crown. Bulletproof movement. 拢17
Here is my latest <$50 addition:
1957 Bulova, a birth year watch for me. And it comes with a bonus:
An OMEGA BOR braclelet. Looks to be a 1036 with #12 end links.
Got this for 91usd. Thought it's pretty nice
Nice, but pricey... wrong thread 馃榿
As a throwback to the OP鈥檚 first watch posted, I looked, and then surprisingly found my old Seiko tank that I may have bought in the 70鈥檚 or 80鈥檚... honestly I didn鈥檛 think I still had it, but since hoarders never give up anything, and I was called that once, I went looking for it after seeing @Looneytoons :
Trouble is, I may have paid too much even back then for it to be included in this thread!
This thread should be moved somewhere more prominent...or then again, maybe not...a good secret...
A beautiful Vulcain, in really nice shape. Very petite lugs. Gold/green dial. Working great. I especially like the faceted 12, which is neat in person. $50 even.
The best for last -
A classic "not working" listed...it was a thorough description, but the way it was described was a little off...low and behold a little twist of the winder...and it is running a full couple of days. Not much wear at all. I also like the flat bezel original crystal... $47.

Five solid hits, although I lost one on the first day due to a breaking strap - a good lesson!
This one is not in perfect working order, it only keeps about a couple hours reserve after wearing a couple days - but it's enough for it to be functional...
I like the 1970s Asian feel of this one...like something out of Bond movie. I particularly like the little thumbnail cut out for the winder, and the angled hour markers which give it nice reflectivity...$30 even.
This next one is in a similar vein - like the little red hour marks. The original bracelet is very cool. This has the same thumbnail cut out as the one above. Perhaps coolest, this has a faceted crystal. Works like a champ, full two day power reserve.
$51.
The last two are a step up, and I was happy with the first two.
