Just bought DeVille on eBay...afraid I got duped

I've read through many real v. fake and the fishing thread...and I still can't tell if this is a fake or a redial. Hoping for a little help from those more experienced. Unfortunately, I already bought this watch. When I received it, it has a plastic dial cover that spins around, isn't sealed and is very cheap-seeming, so I'm pretty disappointed. It also stopped working, and will start again when held in certain positions. Not sure if this is fixable or not. I haven't taken it to a professional because I'm still hoping to return it, but if it's worth holding onto I will definitely take it to a pro. Any help is much appreciated. I'm also wondering if the case back is original? It looks weird because it's a different color. I'm having a hard time finding that information online.

162.045 ref
Dial looks fine to me, but I am not a Deville expert by any means but it doesn't raise and flags for me.
Not familiar enough with the reference to give a good answer on the caseback, more familiar with the square case version, but the 2 tone is common on Deville and the caseback indicates a mixed metal case.

Plastic dial cover = the crystal? They are plastic generally. Shouldn't spin freely but an easy fix.

Its a 1002 so should be an automatic but you still need to give it enough power reserve to get it going. Make sure to wind it 20-30 times to get some power to the mainspring if you haven't already, then wear it to keep it going.

Have you googled the reference number?

A quick ten second search shows the dial, movement and caseback look correct, but the case is clearly wrong, so the watch has been put together from at least two other watches. This could explain why the crystal isn’t sealing properly on the case.

The price is absurd given the issues above. It’s worth 2-3x less than the buy it now price. I’d return it asap.

Kind of what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure. Like I said, I was familiar with the square cased version but I couldn't go as far as calling it a for-sure Frank. Thanks for confirming.

Thanks for the help, everyone! Realized the ref number is 162.046, not 045. Watchcharts.com shows the average value at about $710, which is close to what I paid. Not sure if this is a reliable reference, or if it's based on a watch with all-original parts. Either way, appreciate the insight and will certainly be more conscientious next time.

So if it’s .046 it looks like the case is correct. However;
1. The value from watch charts is high for this. I think the value is half that for a decent one.
2. If yours has a loose crystal and is running poorly, it clearly isn’t a decent one so should be even cheaper.
3. Even in good order, these aren’t hugely desirable models. I can think of a lot of watches I’d spend that money on before one of these. I’d still return it.

You said the watch doesn't run and there's an issue with the crystal. Fixing those would cost you at least half of what you paid for the watch depending on where you live. I would try to return it or at least get compensated for the condition not being described to you correctly. The title says NEAR MINT and the seller has almost perfect rating. I would reach out to them.
